If you are wondering where the tire sealing compound and air compressor are (I know there are instructions on the manual but I had to check ;) ;) 😂😂😂):
inside the trunk on the right - you have to remove the inner lining (clips on the top)

what are these for? How are you supposed to use it if your tire goes flat are there instructions? I'm old school and simply used to using changing it out with a spare.

Macan EV has no spare tire so you need to learn how to use the compressor and sealant setup.

Compressor and the Sealant.

The good news is that the sealant bottle has the yellow valve - MAKE SURE YOURS DOES. I had to use it when my tire went flat on a Cayenne with the same compressor/sealant design. The yellow valve allows you to simply connect the compressor into it and then you connect the tube into to tire. Then compressor AUTOMATICALLY (vs. manual sealant bottles) dispenses the sealant into the tire and you are good to go. TMPS sensor was not compromised as I was able to monitor pressure when getting back home 100 miles away from when I got the nail and filled the tire. Then the sealant is simply washed off with soap water and new tire is installed with TPSM sensors not needed to be replaced.

I took some pictures as I happened to be at the dealer and drive Macan 4S.
The compressor and sealant are located on the right (not left as in Macan ICE), so the panel needs to be pulled to get access to the sealant bottle (left) and compressor (right) that I removed from the slot to take a picture.

You plug in the hose from the sealant into the tire valve, and compressor into the yellow valve on the sealant bottle. The compressor will pressurize the sealant bottle and fill the tire with sealant, then you have to drive around slowly to spread the sealant in the tire, so it finds the puncture and fills it, and monitor tire pressure to be sure it is not dropping to confirm the sealant has worked.

That's far better than the commercial tire sealants which are corrosive and will damage aluminum alloy wheels.

This is really helpful!!!

question for someone who may know - can this kit be used when the puncture is on the tyre wall, rather then on the part of the tyre that touches the road?

when I had my puncture (side wall) the AA man (roadside assistance) told me I could not use that mix for punctures in the side of the tyre wall.

I ended up listening to him and did not use the sealant/compressor.

one more question - how does the compressor work? Is it charged or do I need to connect it to the AC power in the back of the car?

thank you!

I am happy to help having gone through several of these.

1. The tire sealant will not work on a side wall puncture or a nail that is too close to the edge of the tire wall, this is due to the construction of the tire since the wall and the surface compound are different. Your AA man was absolutely correct.

2. The OEM compressor is powered by a 12V using a cigarette lighter plug, so you need to locate your 12V outlets inside and trunk areas in case you need them to power the compressor. I had to use the front 12V outlet to power it to fill front tires and trunk 12V outlet to power it to fill rear tires. However, the best kind is a 3rd party battery powered, so you do not need to worry about any wires and where 12V outlets are located.

Thank you so much! I’ll be investigating the 12V locations in the car tomorrow!!!
Thank you again!

Could you post a link to a sample 12V external battery pack?

Thanks. I have one of those — Fanttik portable tire compressors are great!

Excuse my ignorance but do you use it instead of the OEM tire compressor or somehow use it as a battery source to power the OEM compressor?

I’ve (thankfully) never had to use
it on the Macan (yet) instead of the oem tyre compressor.

I’m hoping that (if I have to!) I will be able to - as I don’t want to be fiddling around with cables when I have a puncture on a busy motorway… but I’m not sure the connectors will fit - I’ll need to check!
