So I typically have a box of tissues in that storage area, the cube shaped type.
Would this tray sit above such a box? How deep does it go inside the storage area?

Once again, great job!
thanks! so i currently have it about ~125mm (~4.9inches) from the bottom. i think a kleenex box is 5inches tall based on my googling, so it would be a tight fit. but it's an easy parameter change to make this sit a little higher.

i actually think for your use case, it would be really cool to add a hole in the tray for the kleenex to pass through. then, you wouldn't have to remove the tray to take a kleenex when you need it!

That's a great idea. As a variation on it, any chance you could

This sounds awesome, as I also store a box of tissue in that compartment. With that change I'd be a definite sale. :)

Cottony - I now have you to blame for my husband gleefully ordering himself a new and much upgraded 3D printer as our existing one couldn’t handle the cubby tray printing. He said to pass on his thanks 🤣🤣🤣

I thought you were gonna say that he ordered a macan ev for himself so he could have a cubby tray of his own! 😉

I’m not sure he’d want to be parted with his Taycan Turbo S. Have you got any organisation solutions for that perhaps? 😂

@tmrqs thanks for giving me the idea of putting a kleenex box in the armrest storage and the subsequent inspiration of adding a passthrough for the kleenex! i just prototyped it out and it looks pretty cool! i think one improvement would be to add a slot/slide to cover up the passthrough hole, so you only expose the kleenex when you actually need to get a tissue. i'll probably get around to it in the future, but there are some other things that are driving me nuts about the macan that i want to work on first (hint: the sun visors are absolutely useless when rotated to the side window )

i'm pretty happy with the designs and haven't observed anything catastrophic with the original base design when using it over the past few days, so i feel comfortable to go forward with posting the files on thingiverse, will share here when i've uploaded the files.

thanks everyone!

This is perfect! I am not even sure I would bother too much with a flap or something, feel it would only make it more cumbersome.

I think I’ll need one of these! 😇

Speaking of, I just received today the tray, it looks great! I will be installing it tomorrow and provide feedback then.

Start prepping the printer @cottony, you’re going to get a few orders my friend!

Oh my gosh. I've been wanting a 3D printer but couldn't justify getting one to myself. Next question is, does anyone have any recommendations for a particular printer?

bro, you can justify getting a Porsche…but a 3d printer is where you draw the line?? 🤨 haha jk, I’m just messing with you 😂

you should totally get one! I was never good at art or music or any of the other “traditional“ avenues for creative expression so I’ve found 3d modeling to be a really good medium for me to tap into my creative side
