Hey all.

it seems however is set the scheduled charging (in the car or app.) that the car always charges immediately.

There charging doesnt do the bluw flashing light on the cap and just charges immediately.

anyone any advice??

This is by design if you SoC is below 25%.

Common complaint with Macan EV or Taycan that you cannot simply set a time period for charging to occur. Porsche decided that you need an emergency buffer of at least 25% when you plug in before any other charging logic is considered.

I'am aware of the 25% but even if the SoC is 50% it starts immediately.
At the moment I investigate if it is caused by the EVSE.

Mine does this randomly…tonight I plugged it in and it showed the scheduled departure as the weekend and started charging immediately as per my weekend schedule. Something is definitely off, but randomly.

I found the "Direct Charging" setting while I was following Porsche navigation that included charging. Enabling Direct Charging allows immediate charging regardless of state of charge or departure schedule.

I enabled this setting during my route planning because I stopped at a different charger than the one selected in the route planning. The charging station I stopped at was less than a mile from the other one. But the Porsche computer system decided to knife fight me to prevent charging the car anywhere but the selected destination. Direct Charging ended the knife fight.

Yes. It’s necessary to turn this on when you need to charge ad hoc. But if you want the scheduled charging to work, you need to make sure it’s turned off again.

What are your Departure settings set to? You confirmed that your clock is correct I assume?
