Hey guys, newbie virgin poster here so be gentle.

Took delivery of a macan 4 7 weeks ago. All seemed well for the first week then noticed a rattle/knock from around the rear right side of the car. Checked all the fittings, tow loop, locking nut, tyre pump, parcel shelf and all taken out and still it still knocks,

it seems to be a little intermittant but always does it over bumpy surface or maybe a grid. Went to the porsche centr friday and couldnt find anything!!

I am still trying to sort with them, but any suggestions??? Thoughts? Anyone else?
I am experiencing the same exact thing I crawled into the back of the car while my wife drove and I can tell you that it’s the hatch that’s rattling I am going to have to make an appointment on this issue to have them resolve Best to be replicate when going under 20 mph on a bumpy surface. This started at about the 2,800 mile marker and it is not tolerable They just don’t seem to make cars like they used to Was curious if anyone else had been experiencing the same thing Your post confirms that my situation is not a one off. Let’s hope it’s a two off though Anyone else? Please come forward and be vocal I am sure the dealer will fix, but this is not acceptable

Gotcha! We tried adjusting the distance holders several times in different ways, but have not unscrewed them very far out yet, worrying that might affect how the trunk lid closes. So the rattle noise has only got better but not disappeared yet. Thanks for the tip!
I also tried unscrewing the two adjusters fully out, and it didn’t help fyi

I've been experiencing this too since taking delivery in early October. There are a few self-fix options that have had some level of success, but still nothing from the dealership. When I left them my car, they gave the standard "our tech didn't hear anything" response.

I will invite the tech to crawl in the back with me and if he can’t hear it, we will then also have to have his hearing checked in addition to the car Stay tuned

As we covered this issue before, a paper towel around the hinge stops the rattle as a temp solution. I would just use electrical tape around the hinge to tighten latch grip to see if that helps. I do not think dealers will have a solution for this, if adjusting rubber stoppers does not solve the rattle.

Can't wait to hear if you have success with the dealer. If you do, please share the solution so I can bring it back to my dealer with a blueprint to fix it (and maybe even make a video about it!!......assuming this is THE OutofSpecDave :)..........I watched all your videos of your drive back from Colorado).

We took delivery early in the fall and noticed this problem from the very beginning. My dealer here in NY did not fix or deny the rattle from the trunk area. We will be trying all of the temp fixes, well, until we have to just ignore it. This is a 3 year lease anyway...

As mine is coming shortly I’m real curious to see how this plays out so I can tell my dealer beforehand. I agree with Dave that would drive me crazy.

Also coming from a very rattle-y Tesla Model X, one of the reasons I’m headed to Porsche to get the opposite.

Hopefully this will be fixed or even better, already fixed in 2025 models (as Dave’s is an early 2024)

After the Model X Maraca, hoping for a rattle free life.

Cheers!

I have a Macan S EV which started rattling 2 weeks after it was delivered. I was able to solve the problem by wrapping the tow hook and the security lug adapter in micro fiber towels. Both are housed in hard plastic and are very loose in their enclosures. Also, I removed the trunk cover as on other Porsches, it rattled. So far so good. The car is now very quiet as a Porsche should be.

yeah i wouldn't be surprised if this is it... from Dave's video, it doesnt sound like a rattle to me...more like a creak.
but that's hard to determine from videos...

I don't have any of these creaking/rattling issues... not even the seatbelt thing so many have complained about... I guess i lucked up

same as Henrus says, just 2 turns and that fixed the issue I was living with since early november.

This was the reason I got out of Rivian and into Porsche. I’ve had quite a few creaks and rattles from onset. Some I’ve been able to fix myself via forum recommendations and some via service. One still present. But so much for Porsche being built like a rock.

I have a new Gen 2 of R1S and it feels pretty solid. I do look at it as more a utility type of vehicle so expect it to be a little more rough and ready than luxury cruiser, but so far so good... surprisingly super quiet.

Maybe they have been crushing the rattles as they go, and Macan being a new design needs a little of that iteration as well.
