Thank you for sharing!! I’ve forwarded this to my SA. My car is at the dealer now to have this looked into (as well as the fact that both the batteries in my key fobs have died twice within 2 months of owning the car!!).
Oh dear, i think someone else mentioned this was an issue on taycans in the past, which the dealer seemed to confirm so hope it solves at least one of the issues. I didbt realise how much i had become fixated on it so when it stopped it was bliss🤣🤣

Why do you have to be such a dick and post rude comments.

i had the problem, someone provided a solution, which worked. You will see from the photo below there is kitchen towel wrapped around the latch. It stopped rattiing. Simple, so it seems that i am not confused, its not non sensical and i have a macan 4 ev thats 1 month old. Clown

uh…my bad. But I wasn’t rude, and certainly didn’t call you four letter obscenities.

The seat belt rattle on the passenger side (when not being used) has been mentioned in some reviews I have watched/read.
This issue is separate from the seat belt one. The noise is definitely coming from the trunk area. Thanks though.

Basic WD-40 is not a lubricant, it is a degreaser. The lubricant needs to be automotive silicone based kind and WD-40 makes one that says Silicone lubricant.
It's not a degreaser either -- it's primary purpose is that of a water displacer. That's where the "WD" in the name comes from. It's heavier than water and is supposed to insulate metal from being in contact with water to avoid rust. If you're trying to use it as a degreaser you're doing it wrong, since it's secondary purpose is that of a light penetrating oil.

im going to say no. Definitely coming from the rear
Rear hatch lock - lubricate it as advised to others earlier to remove this from the equation.

If still no luck then check the parcel shelf and anything in the trunk floor (hidden floor compartment if there is one).

Porsche have some pretty poor quality issues - petrol filler flaps, EV charge port flaps and now rear trunk latch mechanism.

I won't mention the panel fits or the variance in paint colour from body to fenders but....

So I just heard back from my service advisor and he tells me that the noise was a result of a "misaligned tailgate". They aligned it properly and the technician said he didn't hear the sound anymore but I'm to keep an eye on it and monitor it.

Fingers crossed that was the issue and the annoying sound will be a thing of the past.

Seems QA on the production line is not where it needs to be. Issues with various parts of the assembly - squint hoods, variable panel fit to name a few beyond the tailgate issue.

Crap............rattle/clunking is still there. Guess it wasn't the misaligned tailgate. Of course my SA told me the tech never heard the sound, which boggles my mind. Guess it will have to go back for further analysis to figure out what's causing it and what the fix is.

I think I’ve figured it out. I turned the 2 “distance holders” (or what you call them) a bit counter clockwise wise so they stick out more and prevent the trunk from moving metal on metal.

i also had that rattle when the temps got colder. The last two days I heard nothing so it might have fixed it. To be confirmed. Attached a picture.

i was told the same, have you not seen my photos of the temp fix?? It was the latch on the trunk. Just pack it out, stopped straight away.
