Curious if anyone else had the following:
1) Apple play caused system to crash while driving - after two weeks Porsche identified a hardware problem and fixed it
2) Loose steering, sometimes. Sometimes it feels like the gas version, tight, solid. Sometimes it feels super loose. Changing mode (sport, sport plus etc doesn't solve the issues)
3) Front Screen display gets stuck. E.g. if a call comes in and the screen shows"accept, reject" the button doesn't work on the steering wheel, only the center screen. Then the "accept reject" screen gets stuck even after a restart of the car.
4) The lane assist feels really, really aggressive. Kind of ruins the driving experience.
is the "loose" steering" feel correlated with speed? does it change depending on how fast you're driving?

#1 is "fixed"
#2 is loose steering
#3 is hangs for incoming calls - is this reproducible or only sometimes?
#4 lane keeping is lane keeping and it's optional - it probably is what it is…

Mostly because I paid for the feature and was hoping to use it 🤣🤣🤣.
I see you're in the US, so this might not apply, but in Europe, lane keeping software is mandated and manufacturers are forced to include it by law. It, therefore, is not an option that you pay extra for. It is also mandated that the system must activate each time you start the car. Porsche's single button "off" switch is one of the easiest I have seen, it's simple, you just press it each time you set off!

The equivalent systems are just as bad or even worse in all the other cars I have driven that have it. If you want to avoid it, you will have to buy an old car! :)

Thank you. And that impacted the lane assist too? By changing the rest to low?
I think there is a misunderstanding here - I am not aware of any facility to moderate the lane change assistance function - it's either on (default) or off (by driver selection on each new journey). I'm happy to be corrected on this if I've miss-spoken.

-lane assist is very aggressive, turn it off
-loose steering feel may be attributed to the rear wheel steer if you have that option, i felt the same way gets some getting used to at lower speeds.
-software issues with apple CarPlay and screen responsiveness should be helped with a system reboot or worst case a full restart.

If you are used to Tesla with software just working.. its def not my experience with the Porsche (macan), there are some software gremlins that poke their heads up from time to time, hopefully future software updates will resolve.

why dont you switch it off?
Yeah, I don't understand buying Porsches to use lane steering assist (LKA), and don't even understand why Porsche offers it. I wish they'd leave it off and cut the MSRP accordingly. I've never seen a car where lane steering assist is worth using much...

See post #17 for the reason why Porsche fit it.

Thank you! I am used to Tesla. I did turn off the lane assist. Just a bummer as it was an expensive feature.

agree!! Turning off fixed the steering issues too. Now I want my money back for the feature 🤣🤣🤣

I have similar issues with PCM giving randomly some warnings like losing the speed limit signs or the infotainment sticking (no radio/music, navi not working etc) and do not come back after reset (pressing down the central knob). It is only coming back to normal operation after switching off the car for a while which is really annoying.
I noticed that when connecting the car play, the system crashes after a while.
I have an appointment with the dealer on Friday
I brought my Macan 4 to Porsche service last Friday. They reset the PCM, till now the system runs smoothly with no warnings/ no crushes.
Fingers crossed

The PCM stuck again after service 3 times and I had to reset it. Last week it stuck while i was parking and did not understood it till the last time, hopefully I did not touch the car parked opposite of me.
I have a new service appointment the coming Monday. They told me that there is a new update and all this staff will be fixed. Let's see.

That's not the reason.

Actibe Lane Keep Assist (ALK) is part of the InnoDrive option which requires the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) option to steer & keep the car in lane.

Lane Change Assist (LCA) is blind spot monitoring and has 3 yellow LEDs in each door mirrors.

Lane Keep Assist (LKA) is the mandated non optional feature on all new cars which tugs the wheel if you start to wander.

LKA = mandatory on every car
