All Macan EVs produced so far for public use will be MY25 regardless of region / destination.

Our US Monroney Sticker (a US requirement) clearly shows "2024 Macan Turbo Electric". The Monroney was dated September 30, 2024 - probably the date it was released from the port in Florida. The car was manufactured July 2024. The 10th position VIN date is R, a 2024 model. It was the first Macan Electric delivered by PEC ATL.

I do not know the difference, if any, between the 2024 & 2025 models in the US.

I don’t think that is right at all.

Even in NZ we have quite a few 2024 MY cars as identified by the 10th digit of the VIN. There are also quite a few 2025 examples coming through now, including mine.

Porsche clearly label the car model year as 2024 or 2025 on the official national Porsche inventory checker as well and they align with the VIN model year coding: https://finder.porsche.com/nz/en-NZ/search/macan?condition=new&model=macan&model-generation=xab-i

Yes but the Porsche model year will be MY25 which aligns 100% with what I said - remember that it is not the year of manufacture but the manufacturers model year which in the Porsche world always straddles 2 calendar years.

That is factually incorrect.
I have purchase orders for MY24 and MY25 - the cars had different designations.

MY24 was just a very short run.

First Macan EVs arrived late 2024 with customer deliveries in Nov'24 and dealer demos in Sep 24. - post Jul / Aug therefore classed as MY25.

Preproduction models prior to that.

No, I am sorry but you are wrong. Mine was manufactured in August, delivered at the end of September and it’s a MY24. VIN 10th character is “R”.

MY is the same globally - for clarity I can speak with confidence for UK / EU and for some reason NA always has to do it different.

My assertion still stands regardless. All customer cars delivered from Sep'24 onward will be classed as MY25 by Porsche.

Why would the Macan EV break the mould for Porsche?

I won't argue VINs as that would be stupid.

No need - turn the light on - this just tells us the car was made in 2024 (which it would have been).

The real place to determine is on the configurator - the year relates to the Model Year and has been 2025 since Sep'24.

In North America the configurator didn't change from 24 to 25 till late October-Early November time frame. I think there was a few weeks where it overlapped, when you could configure both a 24 and 25. By late November there was only 25s.

Dunno about Porsche, but the normal calendar year and Model relationship often doesn't match for a new or refreshed model.

When my wife configured the car. It stated 2024 & was built 9/20/24 before arriving into the US in December. There were literally MY25 Macan EV’s on the show room floor when we picked up our MY24. I don’t know how it works overseas, but I’m just stating the facts over here in the US.

Again, configurator and VIN of my Macan 4 say 2024 (car built in august 2024 and delivered September 2024).

If it makes any difference, dealers were getting MY2025 4S allocations in September and MY2025 4S's started to arrive in their showrooms in late November, along with MY2024 base 4 stragglers.

Officially the Macan model year is as shown in the VIN.
