I have searched the forum and came up blank on what, if any, changes are planned for the Macan EV for 2027. I think 2027 will be the 4th model year, will this mean a significant refresh? I'm asking since I am considering a custom order and it seems likely the model year changeover will occur in the August time frame. I am not in a hurry, so waiting for a model year 2027 is fine.

I can start with one change. Price increase. Most likely, more annoying assistance systems that cannot be turned off.

Otherwise, since the configurator is still on the 2026, there is no 2027 information available. I usually can get exactly what is changing from one model year to another as soon as the new model year is open for order. Most likely this will be a carryover year with price increase across the board and may be some packaging value play such as a Black edition similar to Taycan.

I would expect a price increase, few color changes and no other material changes. MY2026 was already a smallish upgrade so 2027 won’t be too special. The first proper facelift is expected for MY2028.

So my current lease is up in early 2028 (March). Right now, I don't expect to have access to 2028 cars at that time so I am thinking about either waiting or getting a 2027 Cayenne Coupe S (or GTS) if I don't see any interesting upgrades. I love my current Macan 4S but I also like some of the engineering changes they've made to the Cayenne EV's. I also really like what they've done with the control screens. I suspect they won't retrofit that to the Macan's .. at least not yet. Probably too expensive. I know it's even more money but the price is likely to go up anyway on Macans and they'll have had 2 years to make the Cayenne's software stable.. I don't expect Porsche to catch up to BMW (or Volvo) on true software defined cars till even later than 2028. They just don't have the software skills and they'll do everything in their power to denegrate what VW is doing with Rivian. For that to change, they'd have to fire some of the core engineering team (changing culture is a real problem.. I have lots of stories about Sony and Blackberry on that front) FYI.. I have a deposit on a Rivian 2 premium which would do me reasonably well if I have to wait for the 2028 Macan.

You may already know this - recently Porsche demoted the board member responsible for Car-IT. He is still employed but perhaps he was considered to be failing to embrace the Rivian integration.

Under the restructuring, the research and development division will incorporate Car IT from July 1. Sajjad Khan, who oversaw software and infotainment as the board member for Car IT, will no longer serve on the board and will not be replaced, Porsche said.
