This has got to be the most cynical thread in the forum I’ve seen thus far… all good when viewed in that lens - but a couple of posts had me worried at first (especially from @daveo4EV 😂)

sarcasm - you can ignore - I sometimes just get flustered - this is actually great news and I still love my Macan EV

but OMG the world situation and EV's in general right now - seems to me good news like this is no longer allowed…
Don’t worry @daveo4EV, whoever wrote this article is soon going to be sued, impeached, or deported! Pseudo-free fake speech is not tolerated in this great nation!

Someone is gonna stumble across this thread one day, miss the sarcasm, and be super confused how a community of EV-loving, climate-change deniers came to exist on this forum lol

Oh yes, the risk of fire. In my region, 11 out of every 10 electric vehicles burn every day.
There was a massive fire at a multi storey car park in the UK. Immediately widely covered in the ‘media’ that it could only have been caused by an EV. The truth was, it was a diesel that caught fire and destroyed 1,400 cars. BBC then reported the truth that the report confirmed the vehicle was "diesel-powered" and not "a mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle".

if interested, the BBC report is here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-68627759

Oh wow, to me the sarcasm was clear, and sometimes it feels good to get it out of your system. And to repeat for those who don't follow me particularly, I love my Macan EV, and now I love EV's, and I'm not going back (although my center screen blanked out for 10 minutes the other day, and the car refused to take a charge from my EVSE for a few anxious minutes yesterday, sigh).

Anyway, just beware of confirmation bias. I saw precious few facts backing up the premise of that article is all I'm saying.

The erroneous reports happen all the time. Only last week, the Daily M*il and The S*n reported that the car that caught fire in the Heathrow Tunnel was an EV, when in fact it was a diesel.
