My advisor just told me the software was suspended as well and they are working on installing an updated software (not sure what's the version number)
At the first time they tried the problematic software it didn't initialize, i got the got back there again and then i was told that they will replace the HV control module, after that didn't work they contacted Porsche Engineering and now there seems to be an updated version that they will install today or tomorrow.

I hope this time it's going to work..

Hi All,

A few hours ago, I collected my updated car from the dealership here in Munich. I asked them about the update having been suspended and they confirmed that it had happened and that the reason was that, in some cases, the "old" update seemed to crash the control units, which then needed to be replaced. Apparently, Porsche has already fixed the update, and a fixed version is now being installed in Germany.

I haven't noticed any differences, so far, except for 5G being activated.

Guessing that the update caused problems with some units (some combination of options) but not others. Mine had the major update three weeks ago and for the first time since I owned it (it has previously spent a total of over 8 weeks over 4 visits for software update/repairs), it has been flawless since.

Hope the newest version works for all of you as well as it has for our early, early 2024 Turbo.

Can you check in your service booklet which version they installed?

In the meantime…

I wanted to like the Rivians so much. I have test driven them several times trying to get past the suspension, but hey they are trucks.

At the end of the day I’d much rather have the driving feel of the Macan Turbo over frequent OTA updates. It’s one of those fundamental things for me that no other bells and whistles can make up for.

I wanna love Rivian - they keep preventing me from doing so…

My major software was done about two weeks ago and the quite numberous little issues covering different systems have not once reappeared. The SM has personally contacted quite a few other Macan EV owners for the same update and when I was there, there were six others getting the same update, one getting a power charge port door fixed. [BTW, since my power charge door was fixed two months ago, it has worked flawlessly since compared to before then when hit-n-miss would have been a compliement to described its previous poor, very intermittent functions.}
Hi to All.

My major update was done 2 weeks ago. Prior glitches have disappeared. Frozen (manual not power) charging port (faster charger port side) was listed as one of the fixes. It took them 2 days to run software updates. I had ICE loaner, so no issue With time it took. Two OEM recalls (seat belt adjustment, truck - boot - shelf replaced) too. Not sure why the boot/trunk shelf was replaced. Seat belt adjustment addressed appparent knock against interior B pillar. Mine didn’t knock but I received same adjustment applied fleet wide to all I was told.

All good. Best Wishes to all for a superb 2026!

I am wondering what you mean by charger port side? Are you referencing the DC fast charger side or the level II side?

I have had the update done before the restart, and honestly it seems to be degrading in condition, I am getting very elevated assistance feature errors now that the temps are dropping to to -20c here. I am planning on returning to the dealer to also deal with a trunk clunking sound likely from the hatch lock not being set properly (they tried once before).

I am wondering if the software update changed, so I can have it applied again, but also as your note indicated, the faster charging I'd like to understand more.

I purchased a faster charger for home, to get the 11kva charge speeds, only to be told that the Macan doesn't support that despite it being in the owner's manual, online manual, and the Porsche Canada website. 2 days after I asked Porsche why I could not get that speed, they removed it from the website :-( so wondering if this charger speed update is to address the speed.

But the big question for me, is will this assistance error lights ever go away, and same with the sound system not consistently powering up. I still have these issues too, less than before but still so many. (I use XM radio about 100% of the time, and I did find one setting that said play song from start when changing stations, which was enabled, but I turned it off just now to see if that improves the XM radio starting to play music when you turn on the car - my working theory is that if the car has been powered down, there is no buffer for the song to start playing from the start, and this may glitch it. I hope by turning it off, it doesn't look for the start of song and just plays live radio)

hi Flying for Fun

sorry you’re having issues post software update.

That’s simply not right.

Dealership and Porsche warranty owe complete service on your car. They should reboot and reload.

re charger port door ( manual opening) the left side faster charger door stopped opening. Now it does after software update.

re faster charger at home unir, am not certain Porsche can handle above 9.6 KWH at home AC. I’m not an expert but recall reading this recently. Fast chargers of course totally different. my home charger runs between 5-9.5 KwH based on peak or off peak power to my home from local electricity compan, so I don’t have issues.

hope this helps. Please ask Porsche Dealer to reapply software updates. your glitches are disappointing and unacceptable.
best wishes.

Thanks for the kind words, the dealer will, no resistance to doing the work, its on me to rebook at this point, hopefully the second time it works properly :)

Thanks for clarifying, I read your post as the update enabled faster charging... but the clarification you provided cleared it up. I have manual charge doors, mostly because I purchased what was on the lot and the dealer here doesn't like to order stock with the power doors...

You are correct, the 9.6 seems to be the max... The manual and other official places documented the faster charger support, even have a chart that shows you save about 1.5 hours compared to 9.6 if you have the 11... Turns out, not supported in north America, and when they realized it still said that on the official Porsche Canada website (and other sources) - they pulled it (delete that 11kva support) a few days after I asked the question. I have screen shots from before they removed from the site and copies of their PDF files that said this too. I've decided to not push the issue at this time, my suspicion is the charger overheats on the North American systems/delivery via 2 phases, where the European ones have 3 phase (I read on someone's post) and the charger can stay cooler - I believe this is also the reason why they dropped 120v charging support too.

Hopefully, the assistance systems get fixed soon, that's the biggest concern I have right now. It really does seem to be the colder it is, the worse it works. The weather warmed up today at -2c and there has been no issues - even the front collision sensor dash light that comes on for a while when you start your car seems to take way less time when its warmer vs cold, and/or if its dark outside vs light (being faster). Not sure if its correlated, but I am keeping notes in case there is a pattern. But so far, cold weather seems to impact it in a negative way. This is the start of our coldest and darkest days, so I might be cursing the dash error lights for a few more months :)/
