Bose sound system not quite up to snuff?

My 2025 Base Model Macan came with the Bose subwoofer, However the overall fidelity is not very good. There's no equalizer either to help that. Is this common or should have the dealer see if something is amiss?

The speakers need to be broken in before they reach their full potential. Play music with full dynamic range and at a good volume for a few weeks

I will not be confident in loudspeaker that need hours of heavy duty to be broken. Modern louspeaker with modern suspension are almost immédiately broken.

The Bose sound system is only average.

I've had 2 loaner Macan EVs (4S and Turbo) and the Bose implementation was pretty poor - my wife's Sound Plus in her Macan T sounds much better. Not sure what the issue is but personally it has me thinking twice if I would option in the Macan EV. My 992.2 implementation is excellent as was my Taycan.

There is limited control but make sure surround is on and that you have the balance more to the front than the rear. Bass and treble are the only other two controls.

From my experience it felt like Bose just hadn't been installed correctly which seems unlikely but who knows.

Drove a Mach E recently and I must say the B&O it has was better but it didn't have insulated glass so I had the volume much higher. Bose + Insulated glass is pretty nice but I noticed on few occasions while listening to podcasts that it has some buzzing sound but not all the time.

make sure you have it on surround instead of the default stereo

Putting it on surround and moving the fader more to the front definitely helps.
the Burmeister system definitely sounds better but not 5k better, imo.

I think it may have to do with the acoustics of the cabin. I have the Burmester and not impressed by it either (my old Model X was better).

You're probably right on with that. I've been debating going to my local car stereo place since they've won a million audio awards (yeah, they're probably all for loudness, lmao) to see if there's something they can offer to improve it.

My sales guy said stay away from Burmeister because it's designed for classical music. Said majority of music sounds better on the Bose. I believe you can upgrade the Bose speakers to a higher quality brand, if you want to go down that route.

He claimed he's listened to both and had a customer get the Burmeister and later complain about the sound. I'd also say that the sound system in a Macan will sound very different than a 911.

I told him I thought his job was supposed to get me to buy as much unnecessary items as possible? He said his job was actually to make sure I didn't buy stuff I regretted. We'll see.

My BMW has their Logic 7 system (Harmon Kardon) which is 13 speakers with two subs, one under each front seat. So I've been nervous about whatever sound system my next car would have wouldn't be up to par.

I have the Burmester in my Turbo, it's fairly decent, not quite up to the standard of the Bowers and Wilkins in the BMW iX M60, but with a few tweaks to the settings it sounds pretty good.

I like the Bose very much. I’m an average pop listener and found, that surround + equalizer +10 bass and +8 highs ist perfect for me. but it really took some weeks to sound as good.
