Depends on what you want. I find the Cayenne to be too large and bulky. I imagine that the weight of the Cayenne EV will be huge. What I wish Porsche would do is put out a Macan E-Hybrid (PHEV) like their new 2024 Cayenne E-Hybrid. I'm debating buying the 2024/2025 Cayenne E-Hybrid vs. the 2025 Macan BEV. I've been hesitating on buying a Taycan CT4 for a few years now because I do up to three cross-country road trips every year, and PHEVs seem better suited for me until the public-charging infrastructure builds out more robustly and reliably for long road trips. The Macan BEV has been tested now by two separate YouTube journalists, both getting close to 320 miles of range at 70 mph, which is pretty impressive (and much better than the Taycan range), so I'm going to be giving the Macan a really good look. I suspect that the slightly larger battery pack on the Cayenne BEV will yield a similar range to the Macan BEV, simply because the Cayenne weighs more and will have a larger coefficient of drag due to its larger size.

exactly that! I'd opt for the MY24 Cayenne PHEV, with the upgraded 24kwh battery, it delivers 80+km, and 60+ km tested myself in the cold winter (sub-zero), it's enough for the daily city/short driving and is perfect for the long road trip - hassle free! I seriously doubt the public-charging infrastructure will be much better improved vs the amount of BEV on the road.

I've had Cayennes before (both v8s) and 2 Macans (Turbo and my wife has the T currently). I'm struggling with the looks of the new Macan (lower main lights are an issue for me and were bad enough when they first appeared on Hyundais and the like a while back). The price hike is also a consideration - Macan Turbo is the best option and previously was around £63K and now a staggering £95K before options....seriously!??

The Cayenne will have more room and possibly share the 114kWh (106kWh useable) battery from the e-Tron SUV to give some range. I always ignore the WLTP figures (2 times Tayan owner) and my best was around 245 miles in the summer (WLTP was nearer 300 miles which is just la-la-land). As soon as you add different wheels - 22" then the range will just fall away. So I guess I remain still unconvinced and by the time the Cayenne EV comes around it may have yet further efficiencies (less weight more range).

My current GTS ST is just a joy to drive - range not spectacular but with ample 150kW+ EVSEs around and being a predominately home charger this is never an issue to sweat over. This is a proper sports tourer will adequate practicality.

I suspect the Cayenne will look better overall - slightly bigger but likely not that much more space interior wise.

I think there will be a Taycan with the same battery in February … that will even go further than the Macan, but it will be more expensive as well …

...and might even make it heavier than the Macan?

I’m pretty sure the Cayenne is on the PPE platform too. Don’t expect any energy density improvements in the Cayenne timeframe. It will be a bigger, heavier, car for sure. If you want more space that is the best option. I suspect the Macan will be sportier and probably better looking of the two.

Let us please compares applies to applies regarding the one sentence taken from another post several above which stated,

”The price hike is also a consideration - Macan Turbo is the best option and previously was around £63K and now a staggering £95K before options....seriously!??”

The Macan ICE GTS turbo has 434 HP and 404 TQ. That is 75 less HP less than the Macan 4S EV which costs $84,900. One does not get +75 HP, better handling, better back seat room and more for free.

So we all get it that the pricing of the EV is significantly higher than ICE versions but again let us please compare apples versus apples before putting down the EV Macans.

One does not get about 200+ more HP with the EV Turbo (45% more than the ICE GTS) without paying for it.

agreed, but let's also quote EV HP figures which are always available, not on useless launch controls :)

@andics, do you really want to compare ICE HP available at higher RPMs with EV HP available instantly ? Just a reminder - Macan Turbo dyno run:

I don't want to compare it, but at the same time, I find very misleading the HP figures when the full power is only available at launches.

Nah, too big (I get a MX Plaid for the same dimension) and a bigger battery requires also longer recharging time and it's heavier so I would stay with the Macan (IMHO obviously).
