I need a backup solution to charge even thought there isn’t an available wallbox.

The one delivered by Porsche is overpriced and accept a maximum of 10A (where standard sockets in France can accept 13A max with correct fuse/wires), meaning that in the best case scenario I will achieve 240 x 10A = 2.4 kWh
Why does Porsche enable this sort of limitations?

I‘ve tested the one available at Tesla: 200euros and almost 13A: 2,9kWh (my voltage is around 230v).

sounds like you just need an electrician to install a 50-60amp circuit for you...then you can choose from many of the available wallboxes on the market...

my understanding of his statement is that he does not have an available socket/circuit over 13 amp? So the EVSE is only pulling 10 amps. These things never pull the max amperage right...they pull about 10% under the available amperage ?

I"m not sure about Europe - but for North American EVSE's are supposed to only pull 80% of rated circuit load - so a 16 amp charge rate requires a 20 amp circuit breaker and corresponding appropriate wire gauge

this is because EVSE's are considered as "continuous use" devices - meaning they can operate at max current for 2 or more hours - in North America these types of devices are expected to comply with an 80% load factor if they are continuous use devices…

common breaker sizes are therefore mapped to the following charge rates

the North American SAE J-1772 EVSE standard only documents a maximum charge rate of 19.2 kW or 80 amps @ 240 volts - so there are no EV's or EVSE's that offer L2/AC charging at greater than 19.2 kW…

I'm not sure what the electrical codes in Europe require for EVSE's on a given circuit.

That's not how I read it. The post is stating that the Porsche EVSE only supports 10A which as we know is highly improbable and will be rated to at least 32A to support 13A (2-pin plug), 16 or 32A (industrial connector).

13A is only if you wish to charge slower than a glacial melt and 32A gives you something reasonable - 0.3 mile / minute domestic charging on a single phase electricity supply with all connectors rated at 32A.

I suspect the EVSE may be limited to 16A but would be surprised and would hope for 32A.

The domestic supply will be governed by whatever is available.
