I was wondering if anyone knows a way to toggle between regular recuperation throttle and the coasting other than the diamond button on steering wheel?

I currently have the steering wheel button bind to "surround view" as I use that prob at least once every time I drive the car, especially parking back into my own garage, but I found no other way to toggle between the 2 regen options other than the regen button itself.

My Taycan back around 2020 had a dedicated button on the wheel for regen, but the Macan EV doesn't have the same button.

Thank you

What I do is just press the 'car' icon on the PCM screen, the regen icon appears in the bottom left corner (might be on the right side in the US). It can then be turned on or off.
Its just two touches, works for me.

Wait, doesn't surround view automatically come up when you park? I'm pretty sure mine does.

Personally I leave the diamond button for Regen as i use this multiple times during each drive.

if i needed the cameras I believe the last icon circled below brings up the camera. Not in my car so just going off of memory.

I do the same.

I use the diamond button to turn off the audible speed alerts..

My experience has been hit or miss with the surround view coming up automatically, and I also use surround view for drive-thru. I have 4 other Porsche cars and I have the diamond button set to surround view/park assist so it's easier to keep it consistent. Also for me the bottom left button on the PCM brings up park assist, not "show surround view", which doesn't show the 360 top down view.

If you tap the button twice it goes to surround view but fully get that you are use to diamond button being surround view.

I find it easier double tapping in the same spot vs hitting the car icon and then reaching out to hit the regen button since they are on opposite sides of the screen. Both requires pressing twice but one is easier.

Plus as I had mentioned I’m having some issues with my brake regen so having the regen button right at the steering wheel is key for me

Maybe a dumb question but what's the reason for using the recuperation vs just using the brakes? Is it just to avoid having to press the brake pedal?

It feels like engine braking.

I recently rented a Macan S with an engine and PDK. In Sport mode, the gearbox stays in a lower gear that provides more engine braking, and that feels kind of similar to having the recuperation enabled to me - more drag on throttle lift.

Not sure if this what you meant by your question @fubar.droid but firstly I generally prefer coasting when I drive (ie thrust recuperation off)

For me and some others, the brake recuperation doesn’t work 100% of the time for some reason. Although maybe we are in the minority here.

When that happens I get terrible consumption and need to switch thrust recuperation on.

In addition I live in an hilly area so generally speaking I coast when it’s downhill or even terrain and switch thrust recuperation on when going uphill.

As such having that as a the diamond button gets more mileage for me than surround view which I can easily double tap on the PCM to get.

At some point I’ll have Porsche look at it but it’s hard as it’s not readily reproducible and I’m loving the car too much to give it up at this point

I use regen to stop me speeding. Often I find the car speeds up when you take your foot off the throttle if you are on a slight decline. Regen keeps the car within the legal limit!

Now for my car, I have not found any option to turn re-gen off or on. Is this an option that not in my car or on US models? If I drive down hill and coast there is a bit of regen happening. When I lightly touch the brakes, the regen increases. Note that the amount of regen is dependent on the charge level of the battery...at full charge the battery can't take much charge so the regen effect is very low...could be the source of the intermittent regeneration?

Not in my case, i only charge up to 70% for daily use as I haven't gone on any longer trip.

My Taycan back around 2020 had a dedicated button on the wheel for regen, but the Macan EV doesn't have the same button.
Same for me, regarding the use of the Taycan's buttons. A stupid idea from Porsche's engineers, who forgot that an "electric" command is much more important for an electric car than "next song."
This button deletion is all the more unfortunate since the triggering of the 360 view is still random...

@CandianPorsche83 the regen issue in coasting mode is a general one IMO.
Drivers don’t pay attention…
I think you may be right. I only noticed it when i changed the center tube to show the regen circle (previously it was always on navigation). Once that was on i noticed the weird behaviour of it not going to green at times when I step on the brake pedal
