I got my plug and charge to go on. Does it automatically work with Electrify Canada or do I need to do something else. App says I need a certificate.

You need the certificate. Search this forum as someone posted a detailed step by step

Hi, I just got my Macan 4 almost 2 weeks ago and I am also based in Canada (Quebec). My Plug and Charge option is greyed out on the PCM, it says that I need to activate Connect Services. I scanned some menus but did not find anything about Connect Services. I have the My Porsche app and have subscriptions for charging (free for the next 2 years). The app just fails when trying to enable Plug and Charge, and the little "i" doesn't do anything when I tap it after it fails trying to enable Plug and Charge. Only once, after a weird sequence of app-menu scanning did the "i" bring me to a walkthrough about getting a certificate. But it's just a step-by-step guide, and none of the screens in it match anything in the app or the PCM. It gives the impression that there is a way to see if I have a certificate but I have no idea where that is.

I can view the car's charge status, heat up the cabin etc. from the app so it's definitely communicating with the car. Did you do anything specific to enable "Connect Services" or anything else to not have a greyed-out Plug and Charge option in the PCM?

Exactly the same for me (in Toronto) --- Plug & Charge was greyed out at delivery. My Service Advisor asked me to wait a week or so and if it was still greyed out, to perform a full reset in the PCM as follows:
  • “Settings”
  • “System (general information)”
  • “Reset system to factory settings”
  • Confirm the reset by pressing the “Next” button
  • Confirm the reset by pressing “Reset”
  • Wait until the reset to factory settings has been successfully completed
  • Immediately after the factory reset, drive the vehicle for 15 minutes
After the 15 minute drive. Park the vehicle and turn it off for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes return to the vehicle and sign back in with your Porsche Connect ID and password. Once signed back in the "Plug and charge" option should be available to select.

After the reset, the Plug and Charge option was available in the PCM (i.e., it was no longer greyed out). I then tried "Request Certificate" in the MyPorsche App (under Charging Services/Plug & Charge/Charge Settings) but after numerous attempts, no success. I contacted my Service Advisor and received the following response:

"The certificate part of the activation is on our end. I will email my specialist, and he will be able to activate this certificate. This happens with almost all of the Macan EVs, so there is nothing to worry about. Because of the long line of activations, it may take a week or two to get activated."

and then a follow-up:

"My specialist just got back to me. Your are in the queue for the certificate, he doesn't have a set time it will be pushed through however I just wanted to keep you updated."

So I guess it's not automatic (at least not in Canada). Still waiting for my certificate --- it's only been a few days --- but seems like I'm on the right path to getting Plug & Charge working.

Shout out to Porsche Centre Oakville --- excellent sales support.

Does the two-year free service start when the certificate is issued?

Great info!

Just out of curiosity, what type of charging apps do you guys have to ensure you have the ability to charge at all stations all over North America (Canada and US).

Thanks

Thanks for the detailed info! I followed the steps but the Plug & Charge is still greyed out on the PCM. I'll reach out to my advisor to see if there's an extra step on their end before enabling it. Will keep you posted!
