Have you ever pressed/clicked the Park button and then discovered your Macan EV has not gone into Park?

Have you experienced clicking the Park button but then discovered the car has stayed "in gear"?

There have been several reports of Macan EV drivers having the experience of clicking the Park button but observing the car has not gone into Park (i.e. has stayed in Drive or Reverse.) I thought it would be worthwhile to see how many people on this forum have experienced this.

Please respond to the poll, and also note if this has happened to you more than once, and how you discovered that the car had not entered Park (i.e., did you just notice it on the screen, did it subsequently go into Park when you opened the door, or did it roll to your surprise). Also, please note if you have brought this to the dealer's attention, and if so, what was the response?

So far, a majority of respondents have seen this issue.

I’ve been pressing my parking button as lightly as possible ever since reading this thread haha.

And it’s definitely happened a few times where it clicks and doesn’t go into park. Not 100% reproducible but happens frequently enough. From my observation though , it goes into park if I press again the second time, even if I press equally lightly.

I think my next experiment will be to try double-clicking and see if issue persists. Could be a temp workaround but imo this seems recall worthy?

For what it’s worth, it’s also happened on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (EV) I’ve been driving for a few months, and also on the GMC Acadia (ICE) I drove for almost a week in Florida end just a few days ago.

Is it a problem? Sure, to an extent.
Is it a Porsche-only thing? Nope.
Do people need to take a breather? Maybe.

I've vote no. There have been NHTSA ordered recalls for some cars when the reverse camera wasn't working or was significantly laggy. I'd argue that the car not going into park when it's supposed to is closer to a do-not-drive level recall because of the danger it can present to safety (both the person in the car and those that may be walking around it outside).
