So I just got my car last week and have been playing with the settings I want in the HUD and the instrument cluster. One that that would be really nice is the ability to say "I want navigation in this section if navigation is active, but if not I want this other thing (compass in my case) instead of a blank space".

For those of you in the customer feedback program, it would be really cool if you could pass that along.

How are you liking the HUD? Do you find it blends in with your view and vision and nicely balanced? Any times or features you find distracting?

I'll jump in - as I just finished 2 weeks & 1,700 miles in my 4S with the HUD.

Initially the HUD is a bit distracting - perhaps (when 'fully deployed' with Porsche navigation) even overwhelming. After a week or so it became 'normal' - in fact, I found navigating with it easier than referencing my center stack - or my dashboard display.

I was initially not going to option the HUD - but I'm glad my son pushed me to do it.

Yes, I like HUD too. It's just a matter of getting used to, like with everything new.
But I think the price of HUD is a bit OTT!

HUD has been great overall for me especially once I got use to it. It's there but you almost don't even notice it which is great.

The only thing that pops up that I still need to get use to is sometimes when making a turn at night at speed, my peripheral vision sees a moving light across the windshield (i.e. the HUD turning alongside the car) and for maybe half a second your instincts are "is that a car?"

I’m definitely glad I optioned the HUD, as stated more than once in the forum. It is one of the most constantly useful and noticeable feature while driving.

The HUD already reprioritizes some areas, such as when surround view is active. Then it shows obstacles around the car in place of my driver assistance status. i like the OPs suggestion though it may be tricky from a UI standpoint to select if not A then B.

I would also like Porsche navigation to show exit and diverging lanes differently than turns. Perhaps as an arrow curving to the appropriate side and then vertically.

I love it. Just did a short 180 mi trip, and I've been using the built-in nav instead of CarPlay specifically because of the AR features. The amount of info is great, and I love that it indicates when it is going to slow down for a bend on the freeway.

Off-topic, but the voice control is also pretty good WRT navigation. On par (or maybe even better than) Siri.
