How useful is the heated windscreen option on a Macan EV?

I agree, does somebody know how to switch this on and off? That's incredible that it's impossible to find an answer to such basic question in the car's owner manual.

It in the manual and operates the same across other Porsche models.

If you press the rear-windscreen demister button on the climate control, it clears mist on both windscreens.
I'm pretty sure that's how it works, as I did this a few times and it works.

Indeed, it only does the rear window and the mirrors, not the front windscreen.

the heated windscreen uses electrical power as the heating power source.

the heated windscreen uses 250 kW of power - with the 100/95 kWh battery on the Macan you can run the heated windscreen for about 3 min before you hit 0% on the battery

it's a range killer no doubt…

One warning on the heated windshields.. once you see the wires, they can never be unseen. It's the reason I will never spec it. If you're neurotic, it can be a disaster.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the heated windshield uses a silver coating inside the glass to transfer the heat. So the only visual occlusion is a tint effect that's caused by the silver.

Heated windscreen in Macan is definitely wire free. I have this option and I confirm it's wire free. See my post in an earlier thread.

If it's not the rear defrost and in fact the MAX windshield button, how is this draught-free?

I also read the front heated windshield only works when the ambient air temp is below a certain temp. I haven't had my car below 55F so I guess I cant test it.

Which Jag if I may ask? I currently have an I-Pace and lurking here as I try to convince myself it is ok to essentially write off $50k worth of residual value that I will likely never recoup (all the recalls of my 2019 make it essentially unsellable) and tun around and drop another $150k CDN on another car that will have who knows what resale value (bit be really fun to own)...

My I-Pace has the wired windshield heater and while I really love it in the winters here in Montreal, I do hate the wires and the starry patters wheel driven at night.
