My driver's door needs quite a push to shut down and lots of times doesn't close properly on the 1st attempt, and I noticed that the other doors are also a bit flimsy when it comes to close/open.

Does anyone have similar issues/suggestions?

This is the single subjective element that bothers me when I switch from the Taycan to the Macan...I feel instantly that I am jumping into a cheaper car (even if they cost almost the same..)

We moaned about similar on the Taycan since 2020 and the absence of soft close doors as an option. New J1.2 Taycan has this as an option (someone was listening) but not yet on the Macan EV (only a matter of time) but this would help.

they need a push...not a slam is what i'm learning. myself, and my family often have to attempt to close the doors multiple times... but i think this will get better over time as the rubber softens...especially when it gets warmer again

What you could check is if the window goes down a few milimeters when you're opening the door. I had an issue with the passenger door where this didn't happen anymore so the glass got caught on the hard piece of rubber making it difficult to shut.
It required reprogramming and after that it worked fine again.

Thank you for this, I'll check - reprogramming done at the dealership?

I had that feeling too with the taycan (especially coming from a 8-series with soft closing doors), but I never had to shut the door twice... like 70% of times I do on the Macan

No, you can do this yourself:
  1. keep pushing button (all the way down, passed resistance) down until window reaches bottom, then let go.
  2. push button down again all the way shortly and let go.
  3. keep pulling button (all the way up, passed resistance) up until window reaches top position, then let go.
  4. pull button up again all the shortly and let go.
Got this from the dealer and it worked for me. In older Porsches you had to keep pushing a few seconds after window reached top and bottom but that did not work for me.

Window position re-learning is documented in the Owner's Manual

Thanks for posting this. It was a good reminder that people may have trouble closing the passenger door in our car because there is something wrong with the window functionality.

I wonder what the cause could be that a window forgets it's position.
More common than you might imagine. Various circumstances - unexpected interruption during closing, power glitch, frozen to door seal momentarily etc.

From the manual:

Electric Macan EV Macan 4S - Doors not shutting down properly? 1737562485105-3o

The door closing is something I asked about in my “masterclass” session. Apparently “it’s a Porsche thing”, particularly with the frameless windows 🤷‍♀️

Not on Boxsters, Caymans or 911s - Master Classes aren't all that IMHO..

Yep I agree. Maybe it’s a Macan EV thing. “Thing” being a design flaw in this case.
