Hi All, I have a Macan 4 which I purchased from new in Nov 2024, absolutely love the car. In Feb this year it went in for the big multi day software update and now it’s 9 weeks and the Porsche service centre (Leicestershire) have not managed to get the car to start. They have stripped it down to get to various parts to replace them as per guidance from Porsche Germany HO and here we are still no car. Pretty gutted tbh. It’s just trial and error and I think the car needs to be condemned.
Just wondered if anyone else has had issues with their Macan, I’ve had to escalate within the dealership as I was getting fobbed off and they had given me a Macan petrol car which is costing me the earth to fuel. They said they ‘might’ be able to reimburse me my petrol to which I’ve now demanded they loan me another EV which they are now trying to source me one. Quite honestly the customer service has been dreadful.

Thanks Theresa

Sorry to hear this - is that Sytner Group ? I'm guessing you have raised with Porsche GB directly ? It's a lot easier to call them and raise this.

My car was booked in just after the update was released. The day before, the dealer called to say that they were suspending all updates as they had 2 cars which were ‘bricked’ due to the update. The cars were completely dead. Not long after they re-booked it as they had installed a newer version and that had gone well. Sounds like yours ‘bricked’ hardware as well of software. Strange that my dealer fixed the issue very quickly but your dealer didn’t.

It's these stories that make me shudder.... my Macan 4S EV is due in June!

Good luck getting your car back on the road asap.

sorry to hear this - it really is a great car, so upsetting when you get let down like this esp the 'fobbing off' bit. grrrrrrr my feb 2025 delivery macan 4 has had all relevant firmware updates at west ldn porsche with no issues... i would deffo call Porsche GB in Reading and have a massive moan. Its the dealers fault that a bad firmware was applied and bricked the car .... they should really get you in another macan same spec imho - maybe even permanently ?

I picked up my Turbo in Nov 24 too and have had nothing but issues with it until this month, when Porsche finally took notice of a years worth of complaints and a serious safety system failure in January that led to me crashing the car (thankfully not a serious crash, but £18k of damage via my insurance). 13 weeks later plus intervention from Porsche HQ - turns out the camera array at the top of the windscreen was faulty all along. I've had nothing but being fobbed off and poor customer service for the first year of ownership (in relation to this and also a host of other issues such as a faulty frunk) and basically Porsche refusing to admit there is anything wrong with their cars or their software. I don't hold out much hope of you having a good experience unfortunately!

I have found a solution to my issues though - I've ordered a Mercedes GLC EV!

I don't know how it is in UK...but 9 weeks is well over the Lemon Law time frame we have here in the US. I think the car can't be in the shop for more than 30 days (for one particular issue) before they must repay or replace the vehicle.
you should look into it for your area
