Keen to know if this is intentional or we have a software issue...

When I turn the 'mode' setting on the steering wheel, it only shows 'Offroad, Normal, Sport' in the dashboard display i.e. no 'Sport +' BUT does show 'Sport +' on the centre console screen. Basically, I can't get to 'Sport +' via the steering wheel control, but can from the main screen in the centre.

This appears at odds with videos I've seen on YouTube but wanted to check if it's a Macan 4 thing....?

Thanks in advance for any other experiences.

This is odd. If you optioned Sports Chrono then you get Sport+ Drive Mode as shown here. Then the Mode Dial screen should have Sport+ as an option.

There is Sport+ for the suspension only if you didn't option the Sports Chrono package. That's different from the Sport+ drive mode which adjusts throttle response and steering.
None of the modes have any effect on steering ratio. Unlike other brands, Porsche does not change steering weight with modes. Any change to steering feel is simply a result of increased throttle sensitivity and less computer nanny.

Sport+ for the eMacan alters throttle response, suspension, and PSM (traction control). Sports Chrono also gets you PSM Sport, which is between fully activated and fully deactivated.

I have a Macan 4 and that is the same. The active air suspension lowest setting… sports plus is only available via central console as no other settings change(?). Having tried it a few times on UK roads………. I’d like to keep my teeth.

Do you have Sport Chrono package? I think the Sport+ mode comes with Sport Chrono for Macan 4.

No I don’t have the package; the chrono package gives extra settings other than suspension. From the central console with air suspension you can get a sport plus low low suspension setting…….. on my local roads including highways it feels brutal and I stuck to standard size wheels (too many awful purchase experiences in my youth putting oversized fancy wheels on cars never designed for them)

Quite right @RichardM
Standard 20" are good size, big enough and a perfect fit for a car of this size. And they look far better in real than in configuration. Good for range too.

I had sport Chrono on my Cayenne GTS. I never tracked the car and almost never used Sport+. I did use Sport mode a lot. In Sport+, the Cayenne held each gear until the RPM got to the maximum, and only then shifted to the next gear (Sport mode shifted later than normal mode, but sooner than Sport+). I didn’t option Sport Chrono on this EV because the EV is single speed (no change in shift timing, no shifting), and because with Sport mode I still get overboost. I didn’t think I needed an even stiffer suspension nor a reduction in traction control. I’m not rethinking my choice, but I wonder if I’m missing anything in my understanding of what we get with the Sport Chrono package. Sport+ seems to offer a bit less added benefit over Sport in the EV vs ICE.

I had the Sport Chrono package in my Taycan but never used it. In our Cayenne, we have the compass instead of the Sport Chrono which I prefer. I built the Macan with the compass.

iirc, the sport+ gives you another shock setting only available with the package. I'm assuming it changes some kinda throttle / torque setting as well cuz the est. range will change when you go into the mode as well
overall, it gives you another mode to customize to your liking. cuz "normal" can be changed on the fly, but it can't be modified/saved

Sport Chrono gives you;
-Sport+ drive mode. This changes throttle/chassis tuning and computer settings for the sportiest driving performance. NO MODE CHANGES STEERING WEIGHT, Porsche does not do this. Ever wonder why the GTS cars drive sportier than the other models, despite identical parts? It's almost entirely software tuning. Sport+ gives you some of that.
-Sport setting for PSM. This is a setting between the Stability Management being fully activated and fully deactivated. If allows you to play with the car more than fully activated while still having a safety net
-Sport Chrono Clock

You cannot achieve the sportiest setup without Sport Chrono. It cannot be added later.

The PASM sport+ setting available without Chrono mostly relates just to stiffness and only affects the air suspension. It does not provide any of the other benefits of Sport+ drive mode, and many people would likely enjoy Sport+ as the drive mode with Normal or Sport PASM.
