95% of the Porsche owners I know pronounce it Porsh, including myself. There's just no way to pronounce it correctly that doesn't make you sound pretentious."Porsh", "Porsh", "Porsh". So odd that these reviewers can't pronounce a family name - I kinda stop giving their opinion any credence when they keep repeating this. Even Porsche Factory rolls their eyes about this.
I don't know a single owner who mispronounces it.95% of the Porsche owners I know pronounce it Porsh, including myself. There's just no way to pronounce it correctly that doesn't make you sound pretentious.
It's debatable whether "Porsh" is mispronouncing at all. It's not unusual for words to be pronounced differently in different languages to maintain linguistic fluidity. "Por-shuh" is an odd pronunciation in English and stands out.I don't know a single owner who mispronounces it.
Agreed, I guess. But my dealership has a person whose job it is to call you after your service visit to ask how everything went. Kind of a service followup. Anyway, our regional Porsche rep got wind that the employee was saying "This is Bob from "Porsh" calling about your recent service visit making sure everything was satisfactory", and asked the dealership GM to help him with the correct pronunciation. It's debatable whether "Porsh" is mispronouncing at all. Dealer's choice on that one, but certainly nothing to hold against a reviewer IMO.
