Two things that I've liked about the Macan is its size (not as huge, vs. the Cayenne, or as long and wide as the Panamera) and its ground clearance (vs. the Panamera). The biggest problem with the Macan, in my opinion, is its not having an E-Hybrid version; having a 26-kWh battery pack like the current Cayenne and Panamera E-Hybrids would be huge, and something I'd opt for. While the forthcoming end-of-decade crossover Porsche may have an E-Hybrid drivetrain, I worry that the ground clearance will be too small for my needs (anything under 7 inches is a no-go for me).

I think you might get your wish in the future for a Macan E-Hybrid. Be interesting to watch the market evolution. Love our Macan EV Turbo. Hopefully some compelling options in the next 3-4 years when it’s upgrade time.

Of course.

ICE is dead because once you get an EV you don’t go back.

And Macan EV is crazy good.

Great they are going to focus on it.

Can’t wait to see a gen 2 of it.
Agree - but, hey … not too soon with the Gen2 for us Gen1 pioneers!

No chance this century I'd say.
I'm sure you meant "No chance this decade." But this amused me because I started thinking about what "we" will be driving by the end of this century, and that requires some intense imagining!

For those of us that are still alive by then i assume we'll be on gen 3 solid state and a lifetime range on a single charge...maybe

Taking an optimistic view (i.e. ignoring scenarios where there won't be anyone to drive anything, or where there won't be energy or technology to permit driving anything) I'm thinking no one will actually be driving except recreationally, and maybe by that time we'll have satellites capturing solar energy and beaming it down directly to whatever our vehicle or vehicle-substitutes might be. Or maybe we'll be tapped into a dimension of which we are currently unaware altogether.

If a couple of lunatics in power have their way, probably the whole world would be wiped out by then.
Or you never know, how another Covid like pandemic can unleash havoc. The scientists have already stated it happening again when they said, “it's not a matter of IF, it's a matter of WHEN”. :(

So, let's just enjoy what we have now - a Porsche :)

Just need to upload your consciousness to an NVIDA human robot to enjoy driving your Porsche for a long time.
