The insurance promotion that appeared in the Porsche app was the first I’d heard of Porsche insurance. I’ve had USAA for many years and have never received a quote from another provider that was less than USAA. My concern with another provider would be the quality of service. I’d be interested to learn more about Porsche insurance and who they use as an underwriter.

I' love to try Porsche Insurance but it's not available in California - check the website and request a quote- they may or may not offer it for your state.

They do and the premiums are about 40% cheaper than USAA for similar coverage. Granted that it’s more convenient for those who don’t put too many miles per year. Which would be my case since I use the car mostly to run errands and for recreation. And they guarantee repairs with original equipment and at a Porsche certified shop. I’m still thinking about it while I wonder whether anyone here has had a good or bad experience with them…

OEM parts sounds really good but seems they only support about 8 or so states. Bummer.

I just obtained apples to apples insurance quotes from USAA and Porsche for a new 2025 Porsche Macan Turbo based on 12,000 miles per year with vehicle garaged in Georgia. The Porsche quote was 12% less than USAA - the first time I've ever seen (over decades) another insurer offer a lower quote. The dollar amount difference was relatively modest - $32 per month less for the Porsche policy. I'll probably stay with USAA because of other vehicles (Audis) covered by the same policy, but if I didn't have the other cars and had to give up the convenience of dealing with only one insurer, I'd give Porsche insurance a try.

You've always had USAA come out cheaper than GEICO or Progressive? I have never had USAA cheaper than those two but I'm currently using USAA because their umbrella insurance was a lot cheaper. If I didn't need umbrella, I'd have stuck with GEICO/Progressive as they have always been less for me.

That’s right - I’ve never had any quote from any other insurer be less than USAA. This could be due to several factors - years of service in uniform, length of time with USAA (a good many years…), driving record, location of garaged vehicle, etc. My coverage is always maxed out so the rates quoted are for the highest level of coverage.
