i still do not understand what you are talking about. that is the normal porsche routine what you are doing and not your special invention. you charge the car on ac to 100% before a long trip. you set a departure time so your car is ready for you. then you drive 300km with 135kmh and using the charging planer which precondition the battery —if necessary — for the next charging stop. thats how we all are doing it, thats how it is supposed to be.I just did a 1008km trip, pre conditioning is a life saver and makes charging stops like 7 to 14 minutes, if you do not and follow @seabird you will spend way more time plain and simple … he can talk all day long and ignores all the steps I take … but even when you start with a cold battery that hid of 3kwh is meaningless …
Anyway I fast charged my battery to 80% the night before to get it nice and toasty and slow charged to 100% on AC while it was coldish at around 6C, that kept my battery at temp.
If I would not have done that I would have had a 9C battery on departure for my trip, now I had 23C …
PERFECT!
SO MY ROUTINE WORKS, I drove 135km/h when I could and had a consumption of 24.9kwh/100km so I did not loose any on pre conditioning and had FAST CHARGING every time …
If I would have not done my charging routine and pre conditioned I would have lost probably a minute … if I would have followd @seabirds advice would have lost around 20 minutes on the whole trip easily, as I would have lost 10 minutes on my first charge and 2 times 5 minutes on subquential charges, the last 2 would probably equal as the battery would be in ideal temp range.
You don’t need to believe me but it is simple, pre conditioning is needed for this car, less for the new Taycan and Cayenne as they are less temp sensitive, but his car is and you loose way more then some arm chair mathematics will make you believe …
Ps: you do not have to „force“ the charging planner to do anything. just choose „porsche charging network „ and you can charge at several diffrent providers either with plug and charge or with the porsche charging card. 0.39c/Kwh.
