It was about -10C in the night and -5 in the day. So not very cold, just normal winter day. But promises about 600km range feels just a dream.

I have now driven a bit over 16tkm and average consumption has been 23KW/100km meaning range less than 450km....

The 600km range was never promised for -10 degrees. None of the electric cars will manage that, the Macan isn't particularly worse in winter than others. Not even my ICE car gets their promised range in -10.
On the flip side, we're getting really good range in central europe now as it started to heat up.
Roofbox easily eats another 15-25% percent so I don't think you're doing too badly.

450km at -10 C is fantastic. this is a very sporty car. i would wish that after almost a year has passed everyone would have understood that the tests that are used to determine the range of ICE and EVs are standardized tests that are performed by independent institutes. they do not hold in real life. it is the same for every brand and for ICE as well. for 40 years i have been listening to the lies of people downplaying the gasoline consumption of their cars and suddenly everyone seems obsessed with the range of EV`s. Who drives more than 400km without a break?

I would like to have a range at 100% of 500 km+.

My reasoning is that when on a long road trip I will normally use the range between 10-15% and charge up to 80%. The charging curve over 80% falls very rapidly and takes forever. That will mean I use about 70% of the battery in practice (except perhaps for the first leg since I can charge at home to 100%).

70% range of 500 km will be about 350 km. And driving on the French motorways or indeed through Germany at speeds of 130 -150 km/h will use quite a lot more energy. I probably will only get about 280-300 km using that 70%. I.e. I need to stop every 2 hours which feels ok. But stopping in less than 2 hours between charges does not appeal to me.

you need to drive ICE
plus your math is wrong: a speed setting of 150kmh leads to average speed of 110km. my range is 350km at 90% with 10% remaining battery at an av. speed of 110. so every 3 hours i make a brake. it suits me.

This was my trip two weeks ago, -5C and horrible gusty headwind, car full of people and dogs, with roof box. Consumption was heavy, but I had good 350kW Ionity chargers on the way.

That looks pretty good all things considered. I currently drive an I-Pace (waiting to see if they buy back my model year as they are buying them back in the US before I place an order for a 4S). In the winter, I get around 32 kWh/100km driving at 110km/h (and everything else normal). With ~80kWh usable battery, range is around 250, so 450 will be a great advance.

Reality also here in Finland when you go to north.... Easy to plan 20-80% charging in rural areas , but.......

Attention getting sign but true out here in the Pacific Northwest in quite a few parts where we road trip, ICE range anxiety is real in our “gas guzzler” C8 Z06 (its official EPA label) as some states out here have just 85 octane for regular gas. So one not only has to find a gas station, but one that has 91 or higher octane within “reach.” If we were planning going to isolated places, we always pre-plotted ahead where to get premium fuel and where if that small town, often singular station went out of business or failed to have its fuel truck show up to refill it, where our back-up gas station would be.

Another one sides brain disconnect in the stereotypic presentations that EV’s have range problems and ICE’s do not.
