Surround view not showing up consistently.

I had an intermittent problem with my surround camera. Most of the time the top camera view was not visible, as you can see in the attached video.

My car was in for another problem and the technician said there was an update applied and the problem was solved. So this seems to be a software issue. I will post a screen shot of my pcm software version when I get my car back. Hope this helps anyone.

I also find accessing the various views quite complicated and unintuitive, often can never find the surround view when I need it after pressing every button on the screen!

yeh, at pick up, my SA showed me how to change the views, but i can't figure it out on my own now... But i get the surround view when it senses i'm parking automatically... but i think when i press the park view manually, i just get the front n rear cameras...no overhead...

I have the same issue. A black stripe on top of screen. So limited view. Not on taycan

First few park manoeuvres it seemed ok but I still get the proximity sensor view instead of camera top view. Current pcm software version:

Not sure anything was changed/updated at pcm level.

As it was already said, for me it doesn't seem like a bug or something. It's just very unintuitive. I had the same problem until someone from Porsche visited me. I showed this and suddenly by accident I recognized, that you "just" have to double tap the left button on the side bar twice. So if you want to activate the surround view on your own and you tab this button once, the left side will stay black and show you the park assist mode. If you tap it again, the surround camera is shown. As all of you, I'd also like to have a button / option to just directly activate the surround view.

I'd rather have it work as it did in a taycan, there was no black proximity sensor view available when you had the surround view option. Also it doesn't make sense that on certain occasions the park assist does initialize with the surround camera view instead of the proximity sensor view.

Let me share my humble experience... it is not a bug, it is a weird user experience implementation.

When you click the parking button on the left bottom part of the sidebar menu, the system activates auto park mode and shows the empty parking place selection. That it is why the top view is in black, because if you move the car you will see some squares on the right and the left showing where do you want to park.

I you click twice the parking button, as you did in the video, the mode changes from parking to the standard top view.

I felt the same weird experience at the beginning until discovering that this is how Porsche implemented it.

I really hope it would be useful for all of you.

PD. By the way, the PCM and kernel version are the same today (6 Feb 2025) in all the cars. There is no update yet.

I was so impressed when I drove into my driveway for the first time and the full surround appeared. And then today, it didn't, and then I clicked the parking button to try to get it to appear, and still not the same view.

Now I know this little quirk, that's one more confusion cleared up.

Same here. Always the black stripe above.
and sometimes only front- and back view, not on the side.
