Just as a data point - I reached out my SA who says they (the dealership, presumably - no idea if this is the PCNA 'party line')

"... have been told to expect, assuming they do implement tariffs that affect our vehicles (it may just be on raw goods / materials), is a 7.5% increase. However, we will just have to wait and see what happens."

In that case, we'll find out how much Porsche sells their cars to USA dealerships for, at least more so than we know now.
I'd say that takes some intense assuming.

Assuming PCNA, as the importer, actually pays the tariff, we don't know:

*Will the mother ship (PAG) subsidize the tariff cost (short or long term)?
*Will PCNA subsidize the cost, short or long term?
*Given that PCNA, and subsequently the dealers, will now presumably have a higher cost, would they not look for a margin over that cost?

Who knows? That's just one reason why this is such a potential mess.

There's no new information there.

Porsche's gross margin on cars as around 40%, but the price increase that goes into effect and the amount of whatever tariff is enacted are not directly related. Some amount will be absorbed from the marketing/sales incentives budgets, some amount will be passed on to customers, and some amount will be taken as a loss or a tax mitigation strategy. It might be different over time and across models, and short-term market adjustments vs. MSRP revisions will depend on how stable the situation ends up.

As dgkhn hinted at, Porsche needs to minimize its financial losses. If some cars and models can have their price point pushed up because of tariffs and customers will still pay, then that will help. On the Macan, they may have to eat narrower margins to avoid tanking sales.

Mine sits in Jacksonville.... Been there for 4 days now. SA swears up and down it should be in their possession next week.
Will see....

Re tariffs...fairly certain 90% of us will decline the car should a 10,15,20% tariff be applied on April 1st. Assume Porsche has planned for this scenario...... If not, shame on them!
My Turbo is in Jacksonville too, I got the notification late yesterday that it is en route to my dealer finally.

Put me in with that 90% crowd, I will decline to proceed and request a refund of deposit if they seek to pass on any price increase

Got confirmation today that my 4S is waiting on clearing customs. Porsche app gave March 25 - April 5 as the range for when it will be en route to Dallas. No way it takes more than a week to clear, right? RIGHT???

A bit off topic and doesn't currently apply to the Macan, but would a European delivery still be subject to the tariff?

That's actually a REALLY good questions, because you have to pay for the car before you pick it up for European delivery, but technically the price Porsche has to pay to import to the US isn't finalized until it hits Customs. That might be a case where they have to eat the increase.

I was told by the SA that they don't do European deliveries on the electric--but who knows what info is accurate these days. I have a car coming in April and it is NOT my intention to pay the additional tariff. I will see how that goes.

They don't offer Euro delivery for either the Macan EV or the Taycan. The closest vehicle would be a hybrid Cayenne. I took Euro delivery of an M3 sedan in 2009 and saved enough on the vehicle to pay for a 3 week trip for our family of five. It was an unforgettable experience.
