This is a Macan/q6 battery for reference.

We don’t know yet the tolerance in case of a dent, but pretty obvious it’s very small.
from the Macan battery picture…

this is potentially a key different - and the issues is - how resilient is GRP to underbody impacts vs. what was done for Taycan?

https://engineered-composites.co.uk/why-grp/

GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Plastic or Glass Reinforced Polymer. It is a very versatile material, which has a huge number of applications and uses. GRP is also often referred to as fibreglass (fiberglass in the US) or glass fibre composite. GRP also belongs to a larger family of products known as FRP, or Fibre Reinforced Plastics. We have compiled this in-depth guide to help you get to grips with what GRP is made of, how it is manufactured and what it can be used for.
this quote is promising for Macan…

interesting note from the Tacan forums - the next generation Taycan (2025 and later) has GRP battery cover vs. metal from Gen1 …

interesting…

We‘ll see with the Audi A6 etron if GRP is resistant enough to avoid this sort of problem.
The fact that GRP avoids permanent distorsion means that there is a buffer zone corresponding To the dent tolerance at least.

With the ground clearance of the Macan/Q6, I don’t see battery “dent” as a probable issue In normal use (roads and trails), with or without GRP.

Hard Off-road driving of a car is another level of risk, personal opinion.

Thanks! I think this is what’s missing in the manual but it’s in the article.

In addition, High Level I is activated, increasing the ride height by 20 mm. A lift of 40 mm is achieved in High Level II.
I’m debating if I should order Macan4 with offroad package.
Could someone explain what “High Level 1 and 2” mean? Specifically, I don’t understand if the air suspension actually lifts higher with offroad package or is it the same lift in offroad mode, regardless w/ or w/o offroad package?

My understanding is it doesn’t raise it higher but the off road front bumper increases the angle of approach (if that’s right word) so you have more clearance. The rest of the off road package is purely cosmetic so I only ordered the bumper

I have a really steep, downhill driveway into my garage, most cars cant go into it without bottoming out at the top, The Macan while it doesn't bottom out at the top, if I try to go into it in normal or even lifted mode, the front bumper scratches when making the transition to the bottom. I'm so glad I got the offroad pack, because the only way to get into my stupid ass garage without scratching is going into the lift II mode. I wish there was a way to make smart lift activate into that mode instead of just lift I mode.

ok, I’m confused again 🤔
Are you saying that “lift II mode” is only available with the offroad package?

I'm not sure as I have only driven my car, would have to get input from people who haven't optioned offroad.

If I'm not wrong, I think getting Offroad front bumper does that same job.

It sounds like 10mm is lifted by air suspension?
But it’s not clear if this is additional lift “unlocked” or the same max lift can be done without the offroad bumper.
