You mean M10316 is the most similar to the original puddle lights (the former)

As @Frankie and others (including myself) have found - the connector is purely dependant on which ‘model’ you ordered (10316 vs 10311) with the latter being like the original puddle light (location of connector being in the middle) - thankfully connectors-types are the same for both models (as many have confirmed).

Reviving this thread. It appears the puddle light option for the 4S refers to the under door lights only.

Can anyone who has taken delivery confirm whether there are puddle lights on the bottom of the side view mirrors? My lock date is fast approaching, and I want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

The puddle light option changes the under door lights from regular lights to a projected logo. If you do not select the puddle light option, you get regular under door lights which can be easily changed to the projectors later.

Separate and apart from that, are there standard puddle lamps on the side view mirrors (I failed to check the ones on the floor at the dealer when I placed my order)? And if not, is there an option to get them?

I don’t see them on the standard equipment list or as an option. Our other cars have them, so I’d like them from the factory if it‘s possible. No biggie if not.
