Hi I tried searched but didn’t t see anything definitive. For those that have their car, what can you actually do the Porsche App?

- lock/unlock?
- preheat/precool?

And have anybody tried this to see if it actually works (I’ve read that sometimes there is a delay or connection issues on the Taycan)

thanks

One of the recent updates added a status screen that tells you whether the doors are locked / windows shut, etc. which is nice. As you mentioned, you can lock, unlock, turn on the climate, honk the horn or flash the lights. Has a map of car’s location. If the car’s charging it will show that progress as well

Tried (and use often) both. They work as designed BUT a the communication process from the app to the car requires so much time… in addiction the car status is updated with a noticeable delay. As I wrote in another thread the app is a lot far from perfection and from many other brands standards.

You can also send destination addresses from your iOS contacts and Google Maps to the car using the Porsche App.

Have this same problem with our Solterra and its Connect App. To get more timely information I have to refresh multiple times. The Apple Watch app is the same way where it will say it was refreshed “Just Now”, but that was from the last use. After updating once it tells you how long ago the stale information you are now seeing is from and another refresh or two finally will say “Just Now”.

This is likely because of using old web technology along with trickling information through a cell connection. I could go into more detail, but suffice it to say there are alternatives that are more difficult to implement. There is also a frequent ”good enough” mentality around this technology that I’m familiar with from my job, but don’t personally buy into.

I've used the app to program the charging percentage and departure times. It's best to set it to charge later in the night for me so I set the departure time on the app and it works flawlessly connecting with the car.

You're lucky
In my case, and @Diego too i think, the departure time is not respected, the charge starts quite quickly after the preferred hours start.
I contacted the Porsche Service (connect), they told me (didn't wrote it) that an update would correct this problem, after asking factory.
It's annoying when charging to 100 %, because the battery can "boil" for a few hours for nothing.

I explained the problem to the technicians at the Porsche Experience Center Le Mans 2 days ago, it doesn't worry them at all ...
