Which anti-theft device would you install on your Macan?
Maybe more than 1 for safety

Good question, but to start with, don't get the comfort access.

The hackers have equipment to copy the code when they are near to the key. A signal blocker faraday pouch gives this protection, but then it defeats the 'comfort' purpose as you still need to take it in and out of the pouch coming towards the car.

My dealer, suggested not to get comfort access, and I agreed.

Same here even if I think that thieves are always a step ahead of the security systems. So I ensured the car for the full purchase value.

I will also take out a theft policy but after 1 year the reimbursement will only be at the market value. Then I would like to complicate the life of thieves also to avoid having to walk home...

Killswitch. But not sure yet how to best do it on the Macan. As it was easier on an ICE version. Using a killswitch will allow you to still use CA. If you don’t mind that they can break in but at least not drive off. Also put a lock on your OBD port access.

I think you are worrying too much. The issues with remote hacking were very real a few years ago and still are for older cars. However all modern remote access keys (including Porche) go to sleep after a minute of so of not moving and don’t broadcast a signal that canbe picked up. In addition they only work if signal is near car and will detect if there is a second signal from somewhere else. I’ve had them on last two cars with no problem. Wouldn’t be without it now.
A further thought. At least in UK EVs are not a target for thieves as they are too nervous they won’t be fully charged to allow a clear get away.

Understood. But I believe. “Prevention is better than healing” not having to deal with a stolen car is better in the first place. I am glad it worked out for you so far. I know of people that wish they were in your situation. I am trying to leave as less as possible to chance.

I have always fitted home made Kill switches to my machines but I don't know where to break the circuit on an electric machine. If anyone knows please share

shame that you guys even have to worry about this. I guess it really is dependent on where you live. But I find that for the most part, ppl are just to looking to find stuff IN your car to take, rather than taking the whole car itself...
best to just not leave things in site. or in the car at all...
