...So,here it is...A poll specifically for all those who already owning the car.The lucky and the not so lucky ones as well!
Isn't meant to be an issue list, that's already exist, but rather a satisfaction survey which I believe will help us get a first glance and more thorough insight on how many cars are o.k. and trouble free and how many aren't (and to what extend) relatively to the total amount of cars owned by our forum members.
It seems the issues list already started piling up including some pretty bad ones, so there you go...

The 3 fully detailed answering options are:

1: I'm very happy with my new Macan EV,the car fulfilled my expectations and I'm considering my purchase successful.

2: I'm mostly happy with my new Macan EV although I was expecting a more reliable car from Porsche but I can live with the car's minor issues which I hopefully believe will soon be addressed. In general I don't regret for my purchase.

3: I'm experiencing problems all the time degrading any good feelings the car may has to offer. Some of them are serious enough making the car almost or even completely useless. Without any viable solution visible in the foreseen future I certainly regret for my purchase.

As a side note, the issues concerning Porsche offer with Electrify America although are giving an absolute bad experience to the owner must not be considered as "car issues" per se because such issues apply to USA only rather than to the rest of the world, therefore the conclusions about the car absolute reliability would be distorted.

I encourage every current owner to participate!I believe the conclusions will be rather useful to anyone still trying to make his/her mind up for a Macan EV ownership.

Many thanks.

Thanks for creating the poll - so far only a couple people really unhappy. Looking forward to more votes!
Thanks also for your help on how to create it!

...Yeah...let's hope it'll keep that way! However, as a percentage the totally unlucky owners isn't negligible either, for such an expensive car made by Porsche!

Also, I forgot to inform the voters that the poll was configured in a way someone be able to change the vote in the future. So if an owner hasn't seen any problems yet but in the future something bad arise his vote can be adjusted accordingly.

Counting myself as being one of a total of 2 voting in the "regret" category, I feel an obligation to provide my rationale, especially given my enthusiastic enjoyment of my 3 prior Porsche's including the 911 I still own and love. My bullish view of the EV led me to put down a deposit over 3 years ago and I was thrilled to take ownership 6 weeks ago.

For the initial 4 weeks of ownership I was thrilled with every aspect of the car. Amazing handling, the Turbo acceleration is remarkable and the interior in beautiful. I could go on with the accolades. If asked 2 weeks ago I would have rated the car a 10.

So...the last 2 weeks....

- On 11/4 the car started firing off a variety of rotating warnings. "Chassis Failure", "E-Sound Error", "Tire Monitoring Error, "Secure Against Roll Away", "Vehicle Lighting Error" and "Assistance Systems Error". The rotating messages continued until I locked the car and walked away. I Returned 15 minutes later and all clear. I chalk it up to a fluke.

- On 11/5, same messages again + more. Added issue as the car wouldn't start. Had an appointment to get to. Followed the same steps..., walked away and returned. Car back in action.

- Immediately take car to Dealership and say goodby to my brand new car for nearly the next two weeks and counting.

- Simulataneously engaged with Porsche NA in the naive hope to elevate visibility and action. To date....nothing other than a form email a weeks later (despite my request for a return call from someone in Atlanta who can advocate for a solution). Apparently that isn't something that happens according to the Customer Rep I spoke with.

- Dealership playing detective with Porsche Germany. Car has been driven 292 miles (info thanks to my Porsche app, which is working. For comparison, I had the opportunity to drive 793 miles before things went south). I am told by the Service Manager that the car is reporting out "hundreds of errors".

- From what I can determine, Porsche Germany has no idea what is causing the issues. Not even clear that they have been able to isolate the issues between software and hardware or a combo scenario.

- Daily updates from local Dealer. Last update on Friday represented what I would consider a Hail Mary for all of you football fans. The dealer found some water in the front grill camera (who knows how water infiltrated that area). Porsche Germany instructs them to remove and replace the camera as it could be causing all of the errors. Clearly I am not a technical expert, but a front camera generating "Chassis Failure" warnings seems a bit of a stretch to me. Anyone else want to weigh in on this one?

- To add insult to injury, I am informed that the replacement unit is on backorder (no where to be found in the U.S.). They will get in touch with Germany on Monday and see if they can "find and expedite" the replacement.

- And finally, I am quickly closing in the Massachusetts Lemon Law trigger point. Won't that be fun if I have to go down that path.

To close out, I could not have been more excited to take delivery of the Macan EV and found the car to truly exhilarating. I am delighted and a bit jealous for all of you who elected choice 1 or 2 of the survey. I wish everyone great success and enjoyment with your new car. I hope to rejoin your ranks sometime in the next days....weeks...or months.

@GaryV I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. Believe it or not, yes.. something that minor could be causing all of the issues you've experienced. It happened on my Rivian, an air hose came loose and it sparked all sorts of errors. They reattached it and it's been flawless since.

These EVs are so interconnected that something minor can throw all sorts of unrelated errors.

@GaryV I'm also wishing you the best outcome with this!Literally!I also agree with @PanameraFrank it would be probable the water in the camera area to be the culprit but unfortunately you have to just wait and see and till then there's no guarantee this was the reason for all the anomalies.
I truly hope and wish you to come back in a while when everything will be o.k. and adjust your vote upwards!

Hi Gary, I am having 'Assistance Systems fault' from Day1. It clears off, when car is switched off but would come on after driving for a shorter distance. This disables my Adaptive Cruise control as well and as such I have not tried my ACC at all. We have paid for these options and Porsche does not have a clue how to fix them. Frustrating. At least your local dealer is communicating with your frequently. I have been told by my dealer that Porsche is going to release a software update by the weekend, last week. Nothing has happened yet.

Mostly happy only 4 downsides/issues:
- consumption is higher then expected resulting in a lower range
- HV software error and E sound, once and cleared itself ā€¦
- car is back at Porsche trunk will not open anymore ā€¦
- also the car does not drive in a straight line, it veers to the right, subtle, but annoying ā€¦

Mostly happy (I voted 2), here is my reasoning:

Pros
  • Handling, power, air suspensions, overall fun!
  • Looks better than I thought (ice grey šŸ‘Œ) I had a few doubts before delivery
  • Rear-wheel steering is amazing
  • Build quality (only issue: doors alignment is good, not perfect)
  • Range is (so far) more than I need!
Cons
  • Software works fine for most things, but some annoying issues with mine (outdated PCM)
  • Some "driver assistance limited" errors that come and go
  • The doors require a firm push to close properly, definitely a first series issue.

...That's a brilliant idea...I was trying to think of a way to get to know the nature of the issues each one encounters, but seemingly you gave the solution on your own...!! :like:

I encourage others do also the same when they have the time available!! ;)

Very interesting results so far...7 cars out of a total of 49 are giving such a hard time and bad experience to their owners making them regretting for their decision to get a Macan EV...šŸ¤” Frankly,I was hardly expecting such a result...Not from Porsche at least!
I really hope and wish to everyone voted the 3rd category, their problems soon be addressed and resolved and finally get the car they've been waiting for!!

Seems like with this first series (similar to the Taycan launch?) when people have issues, they're serious issues. My guess is that in the majority of these cases, Porsche is on it and will try to make things right. I'd definitely like to hear more from people who voted 3.

Another embarrassing bug during a review at 12:13
...there aren't 21 inch Spyder wheels, those are the 22 inch Spyders.Even if he doesn't know it he didn't see it's written on the tyres in front of him 255/40 R22??
...As for the bug he describes he probably did something with the screen's light intensity/auto dimming. Most likely there must be somekind of contrast adjustment relatively to the ambient lighting conditions and it's switched to night mode,I had the same issue with my mfd's, GPS screens and radios in my aircraft under certain lighting conditions when the auto dimming was set to "on".

Iā€™d love to hear an update Gary. I took delivery of my Macan Turbo about a month ago and it was an amazing car. A week ago my car had the same ā€˜Chassis Failureā€™, ā€˜E-Sound Failureā€™ and I even had ā€˜Braking Function Limitedā€™ and ā€˜All-wheel Drive System Failed.ā€™

I immediately took my car to the dealership and noticed during the drive that the power steering and air suspension were no longer working.

After a few days waiting for the foreman to be free, I was told that the car also was showing hundreds of errors and it would be a while. Today they informed me that they ordered a new drive and chassis control unit. It is still TBD how long it will be to repair my car or even if this will fix all the issues.

Hopefully yours has been fixed Gary as that means there is hope for my Macan.
