Hi guys, not sure if this was posted before on the forum (tried searching and found only issues on electric charge flaps).

Issue is - today all of a sudden neither of charge port flaps will open by pressing it. Tried locking / unlocking car, starting / shutting of car, pressing on the flap doors to see if maybe one is “stuck” and hence other one won’t open - both seem to be snug / flush with car and no amount of pressing either will get them opened

I think this is the first time we heard manual charge door not opening. I guess the best thing is to contact your dealership.

Was there a charging error? When my car randomly said that there was a right-charge port issue, it locked it and I could not open it. The issue went away after driving a few minutes.

this happened to me also when i took delivery of the car. The sales rep took the car back into the back and later he came back it being open again. I asked him what he did to get it working. He said he ripped it open. Very much encouraging to hear.

What a crap construction. So here's the story - after failing to open it I contacted Porsche (2 dealers in the Netherlands). One simply was overloaded with requests and told me to call back later (Amsterdam). Then my own one told me I should just rip open the cover in the trunk and pull on an emergency cord. I did - to no avail. Then later realizing that this is probably for unlocking the stuck charging cable, not the flap itself (so wrong info probably) - as it obviously didn't work at all.
Then I called them back again, asking to book the car in, as with one port stuck the other wouldn't open either, so essentially I'd be stranded. They told me to try forcing a credit card and prying the port open, instead of an appointment. I insisted on the appointment as I told them I don't want to wreck the car - to which they told me their systems are down and they can't book me in. LOL. So then I thought the hell with it- and used 2 plastic credit cards to force the flap to open. It opened. THEN it refused to stay closed - since I forced the mechanism. So I had to drive around with an open flap. Then thinking how to fix it I push some WD40 and make the inner lock mechanism looser, then turn it manually and flip back the cover - it worked. BUT wouldn;t open again when pressing on it. HOWEVER - after forcing it open again a few timtes and repeating the WD40 spray, it got to operate OK.

What a crap mechanism they use. This car is going up for sale ASAP

The same happened to the door of the charging port of my previous Audi Q8 Plug in. No way to open it. Audi had to replace the door.
But I did not put the Q8 on sale after this problem...

Car is in garage at home and at work. Ambient temps today around +2/3c and no rain, snow or any freezing. So I really don't see any environmental conditions...

I have a number of issues in favour of this decision:

- build quality interior - especially lower door covers (already pieces of material ripped and it turns out to be very thin film covering, i.e. the fake leather but its thinner than on a tesla, like 0.2mm film).
- some rattles here and there coming from god knows where
- passenger seat belt hitting against the B pillar
- quality of Bose speakers, compared to my previous Taycan and current Panamera its not even close
- doors not shutting properly unless slammed - all 4 of them. You need to really slam them hard for htem to properly close.
- now the charge port cover flap

The car is 4.5 months new and with 2650km on the odometer... what gives

Ok...I just went out into my garage and played with the doors for a bit. Mine are working fine, but here is a little something I noticed. The flaps would not open unless the car was fully unlocked and I could open the rear passenger door. When I opened the rear passenger door, I heard a click, and the flaps could open. When I closed the rear passenger doors, the flaps locked even though I was standing right next to it. Try opening the rear passenger door and see if you hear the flap unlock and then the flap in that order. I am thinking the car is autolocking the flaps when all doors are closed. You can go into settings and turn off the autolocking option (to ensure the car stays unlocked) and then try it to see if the flaps open even when all the doors are closed. Not really sure if there is a logical connection between the flaps and the passenger doors but I can hear the flap locking and unlocking when I open and close the door next to it.

Now that we all know it's your Macan, potential buyers stay away from it 😜

It probably has better fit & finish than 90% macans out there from the extensive pics I've seen (panel gaps, charging flaps sticking out, etc)!
So I'd position it more like - if you want a Macan EV, even with all the common flaws, its a better Macan than the majority :D

In that case, mine is in mint condition. So, I'm selling it for 10k premium over list price 😜
