it has an included/built-in J-1772 adapter so you are good to goIf I buy the Tesla Universal WC....I don't need a 1772 adapter? It's a plug and play set up?
Cool.it has an included/built-in J-1772 adapter so you are good to go
but still a good idea to have an adapter when away from home
two adapters required/beneficialCool.
Re other adapter...like a ccs as some charging stations use ccs vs 1772?
I highly suspect 99% of the time ..will be charging it in the garage but I can see where it might be best to have a ccs and not use it vs being somewhere ..and needing it
Gonna buy the TUWC tonight ..and have electrician install next week.
Good stuff..two adapters required/beneficial
complete treatment here:
- J-1772 L1/L2 AC charging - TeslaTap or similar
- Tesla Destination charger (hotels, business, residential, malls, mobile charger, golf courses, wineries)
- CCS1/NACS Supercharger Adatper - SuperTap or similar
- Tesla superchargers - and eventually other NACS fast chargers (EVGo, EA, Chargepoint have all announced they will have NACS cables at their charging sites - so eventually CCS1 vehicles will need an adapter even at non-Tesla fast charging sites)

no hurry on superTap or similar - VW/Audi/Porsche won't have access until June - and even then maybe only VW - it's unclear - we'll see how this rolls out…Good stuff..
Will put em on my list
no hurry on superTap or similar - VW/Audi/Porsche won't have access until June - and even then maybe only VW - it's unclear - we'll see how this rolls out…
it's likely/reasonable/expected that Audi/Porsche will ride VW's coat tails here (same top level corporation) and gain supercharger access - but factually this is not yet confirmed at this time - it's also unconfirmed there is a separate schedule. But going by the only facts presented it's only been recently confirmed for VW…but I'm not sure Audi/Porsche could be excluded due to vehicleID/Vin structure all pointing back to VW as the top level manufacturer
in any case we need facts and actual dates before we know anything for sure - we simply know it _WILL_ happen, but not time frame, or exact mechanism…

Can you review the Tesla Universal charger? It has the adaptor inside the charger. You press a lever and it connects it to the standard Tesla charger. I got the upgrade because I wanted the option to change to the 2025 Macan 4 EV I just picked up on Friday. I charged it and it seemed to work fine BUT this morning I got a notice that it wasn’t connected. I went to my garage and jiggled the charger and it turned green and said charging complete (on MyPorsche app). What do you think? Am I good with this option? Should I buy a L2 charger made by Porsche? ALSO, I need to install an L2 charger at our ranch. It would replace my Tesla regular charger (which no longer works). Should I install an L2 charger made by Porsche or the relatively new L2 universal charger by Tesla like I have at home? i was given a bag with a charger from Porsche with my new 2025 Macan 4 EV but it looks like it’s not that substantial. I’m not that schooled in all this so please treat me like a complete newbie with your response. I also realized the network of super charging options for Porsche is not nearly as prolific as the Tesla ones. There’s a Tesla super charging station near my ranch that I will want to use and others on a long road trip. The 2025 Porsche EV is now “approved?” to charge at these stations BUT I am assuming I need the right adaptor? I ordered a TYPHOON PRO | NACS DC CHARGERS to CCS1 Adapter × 1. Is this a good one to use with my 2025 Macan at a Tesla super charger? SORRY for so many questions. But the Porsche app only speaks to 2024 models. It’s not updated yet to reflect the 2025 models. As stated by @MFitz, you've got the supercharger version instead of the home charger version. The home charger currently works. The supercharger version will not currently work for Macan EV customers on the Tesla supercharging network (DC fast chargers).
There are several Tesla Tap options for home use with the Macan EV. I've used the Tesla Tap Mini 80 amp and the Tesla Tap mini 50 amp.
But I really wanted to reply to this because the order of operations is: (1) attach Tesla Tap Mini 80 to the Tesla wall charger's adapter; (2) insert Tesla tap / Tesla wall charger cable into either charging port of the Macan EV.
I would NOT put the Tesla Tap into the EV's charging port and then put the wall adapter into the Tesla Tap. Bad stuff can happen to you, your loved ones, etc. See this video at about 2:40 in.
