I would absolutely add the AR HUD. Totally worth it.

If you have the money and don't want to compromise, get the Burmester, but if you can put the money towards a higher level motor, I'd go for that instead of the Burmester and stick with the Bose.

Heated window is more of a cell phone blocker than noise/thermal insulation. If you park outside and live in Northern climates, you'll probably still want it. If you're a garage parker or not-much-snow climate dweller, maybe forgo the heated front window.

Sport Chrono is good; I wish I had gotten it for the extra drive mode.
Oh, I wasn’t aware that Heated Window is a cell phone blocker. Anyone have personal experience with this?

Also: what mode does Sport Chrono provide?

On a side note, I really wanted to like the AR HUD however it does give a bit of nausea when trying to focus on it in bright environments. YMMV.

He’s coming from a Tesla Model X Plaid, the Macan EV Base will feel very slow in comparison.
This is true 😂
That’s why I’m keeping both… or at least until the Cayenne Coupe Turbo EV comes out.

Was going to get the Cayenne Turbo EV however that rear design is a bit… hmm, how should I say it: controversial?

That is just wrong.

The Macan EV uses permanent magnet motors, and unless they are receiving current, they act as generators and are producing a braking force. Most of the braking force always comes from the front axle, therefore in a 4/4S/GTS/Turbo the front motor is regenerating more than the rear motor.

Unless you are braking, the front motor in your 4S is always receiving some current.
I believe you are incorrect. One can see which wheels are operating and which are regenerating at any time by entering "car" then selecting "trip" on the center screen which shows you how your car power is in operation. The front wheels are definitely not being used as much as you think.

You’re assuming that the graphic is an accurate representation of the current distribution.

The motor for the front axle must always receive current while driving, since it is a permanent magnet motor and there is no clutch to disconnect the motor from the axle.

Most of the current may be going to the rear motor, but if the front motor doesn’t receive power, it will be braking/regenerating.

Edit: Background info from Porsche.

No current is sent to the front motor unless needed, the vehicle is pushed by the rear motor and since no clutch as the front wheels turn so does the front motor, it spins freely. Obviously there are some minor friction losses which is why RWD Macan is the most efficient.
If I remember the Hyundai/KIA EGM-P? platform uses a clutch.
Porsche probably weighed the pros & cons and decided against, similar to using a 2-speed transmission for example.

No. Please see the link I added to my previous post. Enough current is sent to the front motor to drive the front axle at the vehicle speed.

There is no such thing as "spinning freely" with a clutch-less permanent magnet motor axle. When the magnet is spun within the electrical windings of the stator, the motor generates electrical current through induction. This creates a braking force.

When you step on the brake pedal, most of the braking comes from induction and is used for regeneration. Only if you need more braking force than the induction can produce do the friction brakes engage.

The other thing that may not be obvious is that the coasting on lift-off that Porsche has implemented in absence of one-pedal driving is an illusion. Instead of truly coasting the Macan EV is just gradually reducing the current sent to the motors. If it cut the current to the motors instead, the car would brake hard. This also illustrates that the animation in Car -> Trip that you referenced is not a true representation of what is happening in the drivetrain.

Really lovely build-out. Just one question (as my dealer suggested it and I'm thrilled having changed it): did you consider removing the Window Trim in High Gloss Black, since you ordered the roof rails in black aluminium and don’t have black glossy side-blades or mirrors?
In my opinion, the standard black silky window trim fits the non-glossy black parts of the car much better.
If you haven’t seen it, double-check. I went for the glossy straight away, but it was easy to convince me once I saw the “standard black matte” in my combination.

This did cross my mind, but I’m okay with this combination. Thanks for looking out though!

I personally think the silver acsent works better with chalk than the neodyme which works great with black, but to me looks out of place in the chalk as there is not other reference to that colour, the silver just fits in nicely and can also opt for the alu door trim, or keep black for the nice contrast

Just my 2 pence worth

On that note, for reference for anyone going for an all black interior and black accent - new passengers struggle to find the door handle at night 😂

Not happened to me but this would be a safety issue. Ubered in BYD, everything is nicely illuminated, in particular headroom light switches.

If it can help: I received mine last week with Bose.
It’s really not good at all. Clearly worse than the Harman Kardon in my 2015 BMW.
it’s not tragically bad, but the mids are really lacking.
I wish I would have ticked the Burmeiser

Definitely does.
Thanks to @PrudentOcean, will be checking out his Macan Turbo fitted with the Burmester upgrade on Wednesday in-person.
I'll be sure to share my thoughts then.
