Bose Speaker Upgrade?

Have had my Macan for 4 weeks now having previously owned a Tesla Model S. I’m finding the Bose system very disappointing, music sounds thin, lacks any weight. Podcasts sound like AM radio. Certainly vastly inferior to the sound quality of the Model S.

I’m investigating an upgrade of the speaker units and wondering about viability and whether anyone has considered this route?

Hi,

How long have you had the Macan for? I felt the same way as you, until about 2 weeks later where bass finally kicked in, voices were clear and emphasized and details were much better. It's like the Bose needs to break in for a bit.

Thanks. Have had the car for 4 weeks but only 250 miles. Will give it another week or two before taking it further based on your feedback.

I guess I’m lucky. The stereo in my X5 was so mediocre that the Macan Bose stereo sounds great

Try adjusting the bass - I'm currently trialling maximum bass on standard setting - makes it sound like the woofer is in the boot.

Had mine 6 weeks, 1500 miles and the Bose sounds terrible, no clarity, very flat hardly any bass. It seems to sound just about ok when the car is stationary to start with, but as soon as I move sounds horrible. Something is not right but it’s hard to pinpoint, feels like the frequency crossover points are wrong? My Taycan with Bose sounded fantastic. It is on list with other items for when I book the car in for the upcoming software campaign (aka recall).

My Bose system was default in Stereo mode which does not sound very good. When I put it in Surround mode it's way better.

mmm idk... surround is pretty freakin impressive to me. make sure you turn the base and treble up.

I've come from an 8 year old BMW 3 series with the HK system and the Bose sounds terrible in comparison. The BMW needed setting up correctly and the fact it had a graphic equaliser help with this. With only base and treble to play with it's never going to be perfect. It's the one area of the car I'm disappointed with.
I've played with stereo surround and fader settings but it's still lacking.

My Macan 4 Bose speakers take about 1,000 miles to break in and sound their best. They’re actually pretty good, comparable to my SQ7 Meddle range B&O speakers.

I have standard Porsche Sound Package Plus.
I'm no audiophile as mainly just songs listener on radio, but the sound seems as good as my last BMW i4 HK system. Besides, I prefer the space where the subwoofer goes

I stayed with the standard speakers as don’t consider myself an audiophile by any stretch. Was worried coming from a Tesla, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised… perhaps having so little expectation has helped!
