Digital key is not inconsequential at all. Like someone else said on this thread, people will place a different value on certain features. Some would say the availability of manual transmissions on some 911 models is inconsequential because "PDK is better" but for me, I will keep buying manual 911's for as long as they make it. For my wife, the lack of digital key WAS the dealbreaker. Of course it's not the sole reason, because who the heck doesn't factor in other things in their car decisions. However, it was the biggest reason and what tipped her over the BMW side. The Cayenne did a few things better and the X5 did other things better, so they were evenly matched, but in the end my wife said: "I want the one with digital key" and that's how Porsche lost the sale in my household. Had digital key been available for it, we'd likely have a 3rd Porsche in the garage.It's not about being "elitist". CarKey is such an inconsequential option in the grand scheme of things yet you said it was the sole reason you didn't order the Porsche. However...
