OP--can you post an up close picture of your dash where the passenger display would be? I just realized that if I keep passenger display I lose the Summerwood trim on the dash. I would like to see it up close to make the final decision.

I love the look of your Macan! Itā€™s beautiful!

I too have the Bose, but have been somewhat disappointed with it. I had the Burmeister in my Cayenne GTS and it sounded so much better to me. It might be the size of the interior cabin and not the system itself.

This wonā€™t apply to you since your build is done, but I would recommend anyone getting this vehicle, especially the Turbo, and those who like to drive aggressively on mountain roads, to get the rear wheel steering. It just adds to the overall high speed capabilities of the Macan. Reviews here in another thread have been largely positive.

Audi has an aural alert as youā€™re getting out if you leave your phone in the vehicle. I miss that.

Thank you Riddler82 for your fun and informative post. Lengthy was ā€œgoodā€ for those of us wanting to get new ownersā€™ opinions and facts. Your car looks fantastic.
Thank you!!
I gained so much from others on this forum as I considered, configured and waited for mine to be delivered (and even since), itā€™s absolutely a pleasure to share mine.

I forget the phone as well, my charge point flex seems to work correctly when I plug it in if I am in my scheduled off-peak time, or disable schedule. I just check my c.p. app and my porsche app to make sure the electrons are flowing. I've forgotten to check once or twice though and and after chariging then I get a notification that c.p. is not drawing and I'm likely charged.
ā€¦thank you, I still haven't completely solved this riddle for some reason.

@nick776, thatā€™s absolutely correct! ā€¦ And frankly, one of the aesthetic reasons why I passed on the passenger displayā€¦ I really wanted the continuation of the Summerwood across the dash (or at least the right side of the dash) vs. just on the door panels to add more elegant look and continuity throughout the interior. Particularly with the truffle brown and neodyne accents. Of course, I wasnā€™t personally convinced that the passenger display was a good option for the price for my particular use.

Hereā€™s two photos showing the dash panel from what I was able to grab from my library. I may try and take a picture tomorrow or Tuesday if I have the chance for a closer look. I hope these are helpful.

Thank you @USMA81! I am really loving the car... the stunning and aggressive looks makes me smile as much as the driving dynamics and comfort

I didnā€™t have the Bose or Burmeister in another Porsche (first Porsche, in fact), so I donā€™t have those important points of comparison, but both my wife - her prompting - and I are actually loving the music quality on our (long) drives ā€¦admittedly, OFTEN for no other purpose (the drive with and without music). I have to imagine the Burmeister would be even better(!!), but honestly I have found the Bose system to be quite good. Some here have said that it improves fairly dramatically with seasoning and break-in of the system, I hope you have that experience over time.

Lastly, I really could use that aural alert, lol!

Thank you. For those who have the passenger screen, do you feel like the dash looks "unfinished" without the wood trim piece that gets deleted when you get the passenger screen?

All right, the first forum post & mini review from a daily reader and Turbo Macan owner. Hereā€™s my build and photos of this beautiful machine I have had for just over a week!

Hereā€™s my build

My thoughts (sorry for the long post):

Summary:

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!

This is just a really an exceptionally well thought out and executed car. This is a road car, a sports car, and just happens to be super practical. I have really enjoyed it and I have had no regrets, complaints or issues in my eight days and 1,200+ miles since delivery (including around town and a quick 800 mile road trip to Charlotte NC and back to the DMV).

I hope my reflections are helpful to other owners, owners to be, and folks considering the model on the forum. I have read this forum daily since first considering the Macan EV (and the Taycan before this), in making my option and model selections, in learning about the car and delivery process, in increasing my excitement, and in adjusting my expectations - it has been invaluable: Thanks everyone!

Things I Absolutely Love:

  • This car all around!!
  • Turbo power
  • Turbo aggression in styling and stance
  • Planted nature of this car - a beast
  • Aventurine Green + gloss black
  • 22ā€ RS Spyder Design wheels in Turbonite (absolutely makes the car)
  • Truffle brown interior with Neodyme and Summerwood (stressed on this, super luxurious and classy)
  • Itā€™s a completely different car in Normal and Sport modes
  • Heads up display
  • Apple CarPlay integration (including the HUD)
  • The Bose sound system - itā€™s fantastic
  • Home charging experience (I use ChargePoint Plus)
  • The elegant cooled and closed charging compartment for my iPhone - brilliant!
  • Center console (volume button, recessed cupholders, grab bars - youā€™ll need them)!
  • Smoothness of the ride and tightness of the build of this car in normal
  • Pre climate feature so my interior is perfect when I step into it
  • The 18 way seats: super, super comfortable for both me and my wife and amazing seat positioning
  • Interior build quality and look: I was concerned about the level of black plastics used inside the build. The Turbo version eliminates that and classes it up on the carā€™s exterior. On the interior, because of the ā€˜somewhat elegantā€™ flat black nature of the material - it actually pairs really nicely with the beautiful Truffle brown Club leather. Itā€™s grown on me quite a bit.

I Really Like:

  • The Porsche 100% driver focused cockpit feel
  • The entire PCM experience: snappy; intuitive; great integrated tech.
  • The physical access in and out (best of both worlds - sports car driving experience, easy ride height access)
  • Convenience of charging ports on both sides + in the rear!
  • Steering wheel heating - nice!
  • Active Lane Keep/Active Cruise Control !!
  • Bypassing gas stations
  • Plug and charge at Electrify America was flawless and fast each time on my road trip (and I got up to 279 kW on the 350 kW charger!)
  • The ride quality and in-cabin experience: my wife without fail falls asleep smiling each time we set off for a drive with the Bose playing - - interrupted only to hear her say ā€œwhoaā€ (in a good way), when I decide to play with the cars acceleration or cornering in ā€˜routineā€™ Porsche driving!
  • Black roof rails - extremely subtle and adds a great locationally balanced additional black accent to my Aventurine/gloss black build.
  • Turbo and Electric Badges in Turbonite to pickup on the Turbonite rims (in small quantities looks stunning on Aventurine)
  • Turbonite Porsche badge on the hood - very classy.
  • The Frunk!

I Donā€™t Love:

  • The EV sound (Not the optional sports sound, which I like and can shut off) that the car makes under [25 mph], likely as a pedestrian safety alert. I wish I could shut it off completely!
  • Tire noise at speed (but worth the trade-off to have the RS Spyder Design wheels!!!)
  • The price (but itā€™s sooo worth it right now)
  • Backseat is a bit tight for me, behind myself - but my wife says itā€™s comfortable (we are 6ā€™1ā€ & 5ā€™6ā€ respectively). Very much feels like a ā€œpersonalā€ car (for me in a very good way).
  • The fact that I repeatedly forget and leave my phone in the elegant phone charger when I leave my car
  • Range/consumption: 2.5 mi/kWh average total so far. But for ME, so far the modest range of the Turbo Macan EV has not been an issue (though I check it religiously as a bit of scoreboard watching). Iā€™m able to do everything I want to do around town and on my road trip without feeling compromised.
  • The directions from the Porsche onboard route planner. Neither intuitive nor particularly easy to follow (but excellent for trip planning and chargers). Apple Maps in town.
  • The two usb ports under the center console - Impossible to see & get to!

Donā€™t Use/Donā€™t Know:

  • Back seat heating/cooling

I Donā€™t Miss:

  • Rear wheel steering (car is super nimble and turn circle already very tight). Possible I just donā€™t know what Iā€™m missing, but glad I shifted the option elsewhere.
  • Turbonite interior accents (stressed over this as many of these drop with the truffle interior)
  • Black headlights
  • Power charging port cap
  • Upgraded Burmeister stereo
  • Optional Passenger screen

Challenges/Bugs:

  • HUD disappeared completely one leg of my road trip. Resumed after next charge.
  • Still trying to get my ChargePoint plus to begin charging immediately (the first time I plug it in at home). I must be doing something wrong as I otherwise love it.

My Big Post/Pre delivery anxieties:

  1. Aventurine Green. This color is really stunning and changes in differing lights. - however, I didnā€™t absolutely love it on the Macan 4 I saw in the showroom pre-lock. The 4ā€™s flat black plastic pieces mute the color a bit imho, but Wow it pops on the turbo with gloss black contrasts.
  2. Truffle brown club interior. This interior is gorgeous, but before my reveal, I didnā€™t know if it would be too much brown, the wrong tone of brown, reflect on the windshield, and pair well with the black leather steering wheel, etc. Combined with the Summerwood trim and Neodyme accents, itā€™s really warm and elegant and absolutely a favorite. Definitely premium and beautiful.
  3. Black roof rails. Actually adds to the aggressive stance and width of the Turbo model.

Love them all, had absolutely no need for second guessing - perfect!!

Thatā€™s it for now. Love to hear your thoughts or reactions on my build, experiences or views!

What do you mean buy this--
  • Apple CarPlay integration (including the HUD)? What CarPlay elements show up in the HUD? I have not opted for the HUD in my order, but your comment has piqued my interest. By the way, my Turbo order is the same color inside and out as yours, even RS Spyder Turbonite wheels. I do NOT have HUD specd now though, but I do have Burmester.
