Obviously there are a few cosmetic differences, and obviously that rear motor is more powerful. Are there other technical / performance affecting differences? I asked my driving coach at PECLA, and he kind of dismissed the question, suggesting that was all a bunch of boring engineering stuff. While I’m no engineer, I am curious about the differences, if any. I know the 4S and turbo have their rear motor mounted the same way, which is different from how it is mounted on the other models. I don’t know of any other differences. . . Apologies in advance if I’ve overlooked a thread that has already covered this.

beside some cosmetic (turbonite, different front and back) i am not aware of anything. turbo has more hp but this is really not significant on our streets.
i think that a technical well spect 4s is better thana lean turbo.
ps: i think that the discs are bigger

yeah, outside of the bodywork and visual things like turbonite... the only other thing i know is that the gearing is different for the motor....For the most part, it looks like things are grouped.
the 4 and base have the same parts and 4S and Turbo share parts.... Things like the gas pedal and brakes are differented between the two pairs.
Base/4 getting all black rubber pedals, 4s/T getting chrome
Base/4 getting small black calipers, 4S/T getting big red calipers

But i think between the 4S and T, it's probably all tech specs surrounding the HP differences

Kinda agree, would still liked to have gotten a turbo (although the extra HP is useless) but I couldn't wait for the allocation slot for the turbo (additional 4-5 months) so I got a 4s with every box checked. Came out to $130k anyways.

Had no idea even the pedals are different lmao
I wonder what else? How did you find out about the pedal differences? Good find!

I think i orginally noticed it from watching videos...But i think it'll show in the config between the two models. But it's crazy little things like that, that they don't bring to the front

Someone recently listed different part numbers for the dampers on the Turbo as well.
yah, I noted that in the parts lists there are 3 different rear damper part numbers available. I can't tell which model which gets which though...or what the differences are themselves. but yes,
the front only has 1 p/n for steel or Air

the diff part number for damper could be just spring rate difference due to weight. Porsche has known to do that in the past due to model variation/etc.

Could be. The curb weight difference is greater than I expected for a 4S and Turbo — 5269 vs. 5393 pounds. That can’t all be due to the motors though.

yeesh, not to get off topic but I can't help hate just how heavy the Macan EV is. Prob the thing I miss most about my gas GTS on 20" is how agile it felt compared to the new car, even with the lower center of gravity, the weight is a bit too much.

Look at the standard spec sheet on the configurator for both the 4S and Turbo where it will be easier to spot the differences - technical and cosmetic right down to different brake pedal finish and door inserts.

Turbo will have larger brake rotors, air suspension, torque vectoring, for example and a higher standard spec. Some of this will account for differences in weight.

The GTS when it comes will be a closer comparison to the Turbo typically having the same but software detuned motors.

hard to believe a lot of the statements here. first: how can it be that people can afford to buy a porsche and not know that the weight of the battery makes every EV heavier. second: i come from the ICE macan turbo (drove 150.000 km) the new macan turbo EV with rear axle steering does not feel heavy.

We have a 2012 Cayman S Black Edition (Cayman R in street clothes) with Ceramic brakes - everything else feels heavy (even our GT4)!
