Has anyone figured out if it is possible to disable the buttons that open the front and rear hatch on the keyfob, and ideally the buttons on by the drivers door window switches?

They’re easy to activate and I’ve had the misfortunate to accidentally open the rear hatch from the drivers door control whilst parked in a tight garage. That’s not great and scratched the hatch which is currently getting repaired.

The rear hatch popped in the garage, chipping the paint due to the key fob trigging as I got in the car. A cover for the fob will fix that problem. Maybe the same approach would work for the drivers door.

Haven't had the misforunte of doing so (knock on wood) but 100% agree on the location of the button on driver door. There's been several times where I was trying to open the rear windows and had to do a quick double take to ensure I was pressing the right button.

If the hatch hit the back of the garage wall due to parking close to it then there is little that can be done about that, but you can adjust how high the hatch opens, which would help prevent hitting the ceiling.

I had both front and back hatch open at several occasions... really nuts that an experienced car manufacture did not make either a better key or software where you can set double or triple click to activate the function. I have been lucky so far that there was nothing stolen or that it was not raining ... just very bad design/implementation.

On my BMW Z4 I had to hold the button to open the tailgate for two seconds. This also prevents you from accidentally opening the tailgate by pressing the button once briefly.

Do you know of a car manufacturer who lets you disable buttons on the remote or who uses multiple presses to activate a function?
Porsche - unlock all doors if set to normally open driver's side.

Porsche - some models pressing lock and unlock for 2 secs disables the alarm and / or comfort opening.

Porsche - long press of open or lock will open all windows, roof, cabrio roof and opposite if lock is pressed.

Audi - 2 taps to open the trunk (even marked on the key fob).

Others I'm sure if you look.

Mercedes Benz: you have to press and hold to open the trunk. It's almost impossible to open it accidentally.
I love many things about my Macan, but this is a design flaw.

I had the right rear door of my wife’s Mini Clubman open a couple of times until I learned not to keep the key in my pocket. Once at a traffic light I heard it go and was lucky to have sufficient time to dash out and close it again.
