sooo i went to charge to at my local EA. I got out, and left my family in the car (it's super cold) while i got things going. I guess while i was standing beside and walking around the back of the car, maybe it thought i was gone...idk... but either way, while i was waiting for the charge to initiate (which for some reason took a while), the alarm went off...
no biggie, i just unlocked the car with the key... the charge eventually started and we went off to shop while we waited...

I came back at the end of the charge...and my Driver side door would not open. I unlocked it multiple times...you hear the clicking... back door would open... Front door would not open.
i climbed in the passenger side and opened the handle from the inside...
after that...went home and tried to mess around with the HomeLink stuff (unsuccessfully) and i was in and out the car a lot... but i never locked it...
my settings are set so that the cars locks when i "walk away" so that happens in the garage...the car locked.
i went to the store later that day, and got in the car no problem......
But when i was leaving the store, again...the driver's side door would NOT open! I had to go through the passenger side again...

anyone else have this issue?
this may actually make me have to take the car in if this keeps happening

The lock has electronic and mechanical opening phases. I suspect the electronic portion is not working properly or broken. Usually, the electronic opening is initiated when pulling on the inside door lever lightly but then if you pull more, mechanical opener is initiated required by law.

Re Homelink - typically the issue is if your door opener uses a rolling code for opening / closing - it won't be compatible with Homeline and you may need to use a non-rolling code opener OR invest in a Universal Receiver (which doesn't use a rolling code and Homelink supports 100%) and attach to your existing opener.
