What they do have is gold plated rock solid warranty (you'll need it) and so apart from an inconvenience here or there you will encounter the odd issue which will be treated without drama and for free.

Perhaps but I've never had to manually reset either of my Taycans in 4 years - never done the engineering reset, pulled a fuse or 12v shimmy.

Macan EV is built on Android Auto (I believe)

Android Automotive, not Android Auto. They're two separate products. Google aren't great at naming things

As far as I know, they're not adding Google services though. That's an optional feature when a manufacturer is using Android Automotive. The base OS is free and open-source, but they have to pay a licensing fee to use "Google Automotive Services" (like Google Maps) on it.

Yep.

Android Auto is Google’s version of Apple CarPlay whereas Android Automotive is an actual car operating system - previously manufacturers would have used QNX, for example.

I confirm the 30 seconds press works on macan turbo.
Had my first black screen and this restarted the system (with ignition on).
Loving the car, amazing , but I am having a new problem…. My wife wants it!!!

Might want to note that this just resets the PCM, not the whole car.

I have a Turbo for this weekend. Logged in with my Porsche ID (had a 4S EV a couple of weeks back and this process worked just fine) and all was fine until I powered the car off locked it, returned 20 mins later and now left with the logging in screen. 30 sec hold of the button does not work (for me) and tried several times. Now waiting a while to see if it springs to life.

Really disappointed that this process remains flawed and temperamental.

Never had this issue on either of my Taycans (I know many have).
