Interesting that.
The tests were specifically for winter conditions. So, applied to all cars they tested.

Tesla particularly came out in bad light. They are known for exaggerating their range. Even the word “lied” was used in the article 😮

WLTP and EPA don't test many cars themselves, as they don't have enough resources and enough funds. Most tests are done by car manufacturers according to the set parameters and criteria given to them. So, some like Tesla obviously fudge.

Credit to the top two, Polestar and BYD Tang. I wish Porsche Macan had done better, especially when they hyped so much about their PPE battery :(
Let's hope it does better in summer conditions.

Coincidently, I was looking for real range unbiased reviews and came across this truly winter review. It was filmed in Scandinavia driving at 70 mph in temperatures below freezing. The Macan 4 seemed to me to come out rather well and the guy is independent as he compares the results to the 100+ cars he has done the same test for.

It's pretty expected for those three cars to have more range. They sacrifice comfort/sportiness/style.

The most surprising result is the new Taycan. I'd have to imagine we'll see the eMacan get the 25 Taycan upgrades in 2 or 3 years, pretty shocking how much more range they've gotten from it and the charging results are bonkers. Referring to not just this test but others I've seen.

266 at 70 in winter is, honestly, quite fine. My experience in the 4S has been closer to 215, albeit at a higher average speed (mostly 80 & 74).

-22% vs WLTP and 19 out of 24
The rank is percentage of WLTP, not absolute range, so really meaningless in itself. Also, I can't figure out which Macan they tested. The Q6 went considerably farther.

So, a number of things don't add up here. A polestar 3 with 107 kWh got 330 miles at 70 mph in freezing temperature? I'm going to need to see video of the entire run to believe that.

All of their numbers don't make sense. Is there an article with details of the temperature, average speeds, high speeds, climate usage, etc??

The numbers beggar belief.

Considering Bjorn on YouTube has meticulously documented range tests that show much lower range numbers than this, something is off here. Really off.
