Macan 4 now or 4S in 5 months?

Hi all!!!!

Yet to decide which one to buy. I went to the dealer. and he told me that if I want the Macan 4 will probably be delivered in April but if I wan’t the 4S I’ll need to wait till August/September.

The specs are the same in both(took some extras in the 4 that matches the 4S) the only difference (as far as I know) will be the motor and also the colored break calipers.

I was decided to buy the 4S but not sure if I will be able to wait five more months…

Any advice??

I waited for my 4S. Advantages: more power, red brake calipers, less software glitches and rattles. Also, you may take advantage of the rumored upcoming software upgrade by then…

You can have your 4 now but under one condition; never try 4s or turbo. If so, you will not forgive yourselves you haven't waited...

I just needed a little push to reaffirm that what I really want is the 4S, even if it's a bit more expensive and I have to wait longer

However, Ii you decide to go with the S then I sugg3st you ask the dealer whether there will be a price increase. When I collected mine last week the business manager told me there was to be one for all cars delivered after June.

I'm living in Europe, so I don't expect a price increase due to tax changes. (unless it is a general thing across all the countries. Here in Spain the car is already more expensive than in the US)

It was not a matter of money, the difference is only 4-5K. It was more about the time without the car. But now, I'm fully convinced to wait for it. As some folks said, if I don’t wait, I might regret the decision in the future

You are unlikely to regret with any Macan model. Speed aside, driving dynamics are not different. Best to test drive both models and decide for yourself.
And depends on what's more important to you, more range or more speed.

I also believe the wait is worth it. Both are great but the S just gives you a bit more zip that brings the additional smile when you drive. Time flies, it is worth the wait. If you have owned an EV prior to this it is even more important to test drive them both. The only risk of course is the damn threat of the tarriffs, who knows what the might bring.

Just got the 4. Came out of a Taycan Cross 4S. The Macan4 is pokey compared to the Cross 4S and that's why I got the 4 as I was going to get arrested for driving like I stole it. Fast cars go fast. Sports cars go fast. ( I had to stop. ) Read as get the 4S or GTS.

if you keep the car for any length of time wait for the 4S - 5 month delay will be inconsequential after 1st 2 years of ownership - at that point I would work with your dealer for an early delivery of a 2026 4S…

Do you know when the 2026 cars will start being delivered? Having read that there is a major software update in week 36, and considering that the earliest delivery date I’ve been told is in September, if I have to wait one more month, it might be worth it.

Since I’m already waiting, what difference does it make whether it’s 5 or 6/7 months… Other thing is if I need to wait till January

porsche normally delivers next MY vehicles starting in Sept/Oct - so a MY’2026 Macan could be had before halloween of 2025 - normally - YMMV

Porsche Rule of thumb - if you’re not taking delivery unti after August - if you can wait until later in the year and get next model year - OR - get a discount on current model year because you’re taking it so late in the year
