Hi All,

New Member, just placed an order on a Volcano Grey 4S due for delivery July ’25.

Sport Chrono wasn’t on my extras spec, but the dealer talked me into it. He was pretty specific in stating the option includes push-to-pass… I’m almost certain this isn’t the case, and this applies to Taycan only.

- Does Sport Chrono enable push-to-pass?
- Is Sport Chrono worth It?

Is Sport Chrono worth It?
Some have answered the first question.
But whether it's worth it, it's really being personal taste and whether you really need Sport Plus as well as Sport in already fast 4S.
Going by various comments, rarely anyone uses Sport Plus.
I rather prefer a cleaner dash, and there is already a digital clock anyway in the instrument panel behind the steering wheel.

There is no push-to-pass on the Macan EV, with or without the Sport Chrono package.

However, Sport Chrono and the Sport+ mode do unlock a slight bit more power than you get in Sport mode. I base that assertion on my own acceleration testing with a VBOX rather than information from Porsche.

I opted for chrome because I don’t like how the dash looks without it. It is not clean looking IMHO. There’s a large vent/grate thing in the middle that detracts from its smoothness. I’m not sure what it does. The chrono at least gives it some sort of purpose. I also opted for the clock which is hard to read at night.

Right. I also ordered it. Much nicer is the subsecond clock but more then 1000,- plus. there is also the compass which is cheaper but no +

I think it’s part of a Porsche so I wouldn’t get one without it. However you could argue that a big SUV does not really need it.
I think it looks quite nice however.

I also did not choose the Chrono package with the clock on the dashboard. How often would I drive in Sport Plus? Rarely to never. In order to fill up the dashboard a bit, I chose the compass. This also has a time clock and an altimeter. This saves almost half the cost of the chrono clock.

I didn’t think Sport Chrono was necessary on the 4S but didn’t like the look of the blank dash, so I added the Compass option which includes a digital altimeter and clock. For a ridiculous up-charge, you can change the face of the compass (or chrono) to match your seat or seatbelt color.

Funny, I really like the old-school look of the clock on the dash. I'd pay extra for the clock, but not for the Sport Plus. I might end up with the commas just to have that round gauge of some sort...

First of all, congratulations to a great car and great color! I got mine a few weeks ago. Sport Chrono package is worth it, both from a driving perspective and for the great looking clock on the dash board. I would highly recommend it.

Another example of an ill informed Porsche Sales Rep.

Not part of Macan EV Sport Chrono (SC) at all.

Has nothing to do with performance (power / speed) per se and is increasingly becoming a redundant feature on newer Porsche models.

You get a drive mode wheel as standard now which is largely what folk use the SC option for so unless you want a clock on top of your dash then it isn't worth having IMHO.

Suggest your SA pays for the option out of his commission!

+1 for the Chrono ‘club’. This is my first Porsche and I much preferred the ‘look’ of the dash with the Chrono (personal preference of course).

As @W1NGE has posted above, the Chrono ‘package’ does give you the ‘Sports Plus’ mode (definitely not the ‘Push-To-Pass’ button - the SA needs to be sent back for Product training - probably thinking of the Taycan). @PrudentOcean has an interesting separate thread of the effects of Sports+ vs Sports mode acceleration using a professional Racelogic VBOX to measure (in a Macan Turbo) which may speak to the “performance-orientated chassis tuning” or PAA referenced in the post above.
