Peter do you mean in 5-7 days the car from bare metal to completion is 100% completed and tested and ready to be sent to the dealership?Same time period counts for any built irrelevantly how heavy it's spec'ed?build time always 5-7 days
as far i understand it there are up to 4 weeks of preproduction time where all the necessary parts are stocked and a week where the car is assembled and tested.Peter do you mean in 5-7 days the car from bare metal to completion is 100% completed and tested and ready to be sent to the dealership?Same time period counts for any built irrelevantly how heavy it's spec'ed?
That time frame is normalHi,
I know this topic has been touched briefly in other threads but wonder if anyone does have any information regarding Model Year 2026 start and Leipzig factory closure. According to Porsche app, my build starts on 13th of July and starts leaving factory on 11th of August. 1 month to build seems strange.
Thx
Chris
Hi to All.I think the OP means the August pause due to vacation and production line servicing rather than a complete factory closing.Maybe I'm wrong though...
Concerning the building time needed for the car to be produced,as far as I know a heavy spec'ed loaded car needs approx 3 weeks to exit the factory from day 1 to completion including all necessary software installations and concequent testing prior entering the delivery phase to the dealership.
As for MY2026 according to my knowledge will start from September 01.
Our 2024 Macan Electric Turbo was manufactured at the same time as yours and we have had one small (DC Charge Port Flap) failure in 7,000 miles. The quality difference may be having it delivered to PEC ATL, where it became the first Macan Electric they delivered.Hi to All.
Reinforcing various replies in this thread: there are summer holidays and shifts reduce especially August.
Loaded cars take longer before leaving plant, so July production shipped to port early August is correct
My Factory Order was sent to be in the 1st week production of commercial launch for US Marker (boy was I naive and I’ll never do that again) which was 1st week of July 2024 which left factory to shipping port early August similar date as per this thread.
I was naive as 2025 models have fewer bugs and glitches. Likely 2026 models fewer “to none”
It then takes a couple of weeks to align cars on designated ships that visit ports closest to delivery Dealerships. I got my car mid Oct last year, which is not representative of factory door to dealer door, as 2024 models sat in US ports awaiting Porsche’s DOT approval of models.
Wishing all seamless ownership and happy miles!
Awesome for you!Our 2024 Macan Electric Turbo was manufactured at the same time as yours and we have had one small (DC Charge Port Flap) failure in 7,000 miles. The quality difference may be having it delivered to PEC ATL, where it became the first Macan Electric they delivered.
Delivery at PEC ATL and the Macan Turbo were perfect, as good or better than our deliveries in Leipzig (2015 Macan Turbo) and Stuttgart (2012 Cayman S Black Edition). Our only delivery from Porsche Beaverton (2016 GT4) was also excellent, but not quite the polish or knowledge as factory deliveries (Germany steps you through many features and warnings).
