Protip: click on the gear icon in the lower right corner of the YouTube video player, go to Playback Speed, and select 1.25 or even 1.5. The video will play at the selected rate with the audio adjusted to prevent a pitch shift.

Did anyone else notice at the first charging stop, where the failure occurred?

It looked like, when the max charge level of the car was changed AFTER the charging was 'complete' (charge rate was zero), the charging station got grumpy and failed.

Must be a misprint in the manual as the Macan only supports 9.6kW 40A It does not support 48A OBC
Another OOS fan here. Issue re charger is not just manual, but also specs and press materials say 11kw (48 amps). PCNA has not changed those materials, nor responded to Macan owner efforts to understand the facts of 40 amps vs 48 amps. Dealers and PCNA pointing fingers at each other to respond to this concern. We thought maybe you or Kyle could get through to Porsche about this.

I watch both Kyle and Dave at 1.25x. :like: I occasionally fast-forward or end early, but I do watch them all!

I respect Kyle/his-associates for his accuracy and thoroughness - and lack of hyperbole - and his very knowledgable EV'centric approach vs. some of the legacy non-EV reviewers - who sometime reach interesting conclusions because they are clueless about EV'sā€¦

to date I've never had any issues with Kyle's conclusions, opinions or general information shared - he also teases out things other non-EV reviewers fail to pay attention to or simply don't know to look for.

I look forward to his standardized reviews, and the now broad/deep history of comparisons across multiple EV's (range, driving aids, cargo, handeling, charging speed, etcā€¦)

his reviews are thorough/accurate/consistent and well researched and "not stupid"ā€¦we'd all be so lucky if all reviewers met this criteria.

but his videos are just soooooooooooo longā€¦that's my only complaint - but it doesn't mean I don't respect him/associates and don't consider him authoritative on the topic.

also I simply don't know how he has time for it all and seems to be one of the hardest working reviewers on youTube, and making a go of it with sponsers, an audience, car manufacturers and what not - it's hard work, a lot of time, and unrelentingā€¦congratulations to Kyle/Dave for keeping this a successful entity - it's hard work and not everyone is any good at it, and I respect the content they generate and share with all of us.

time stamp ~ 41:xx - discussion of speedo reading "high" vs. gps - this is common for Porsche's (and other German cars) - discussed extensively hereā€¦

https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/speedometer-off-3-4-mph-at-70-80mph.18265/

if you get GPS telemetry devices that are more accurate that phone-gps - you'll find +2 mph is common for all Porsche's - 70 mph indicated in the vehicle normally indicates 68 mph on a highly accurate external GPS device or road-side speed measurement/radarsā€¦

@OutofSpecDave @outofspeckyle - just tagging you in case you want to catch up on what we know in this space.

I've never owned a Porsche that did not have this 2 mph bias - just FYI!

Thanks for this post Means a lot! Kyle loves what he does, has always been a car guy ant heart (born that way) and he is super driven Itā€™s been a fun time seeing him grow into who he is today for sure. But the reality is, he and I are not really doing anything different than what we have always done. Just now, there is a camera recording some of it!

Well my Macan vs my other cars has a bigger deviation, on my iX 75mph is according to phone GPS 1 MPH off, the is around 3 miles off, which is a big difference, I need to adjust accordingly šŸ˜œ (while the difference with the iX seems fix, with the Porsche it gets higher at higher speeds )

I'll take your word for it - my assertions are based on every _OTHER_ Porsche I've ever owned - so far in my Macan I've not noticed more than 2 mph - but I also have a much much smaller samples size (i.e. seat time) - I also will probably not be tracking it so I won't have a VBOX/AIM system in the vehicle that has very accurate speed measurementsā€¦

the main point is however the speedometer in every Porsche I've ever owned over-reports speed (more speed is shown on the dash board speedometer than current actual physic's based velocity)ā€¦so far that's been proven true - but the bias in the Macan still needs to be teased out vs. the historical behavior of previous Porsche'sā€¦

I thought all cars showed a speed a bit higher than indicated. I have had Ford, GM, Audi, VW, Tesla, Polestar and all have been under and frankly 2 mph at 70 is less than most. I thought it was deliberate so they couldnā€™t be sued if you got a speeding ticket while speedo showed you were on limit. Is this just a UK thing?

All cars do, but the thing with my Macan is, the over reporting is way higher like 2x or even more vs my other cars ā€¦
Maybe it is my Tire setup, default 20 inch Turbo wheels with summer tires, Iā€™ll get 20 inch S wheels with winter tires, Iā€™ll test again ā€¦
