AC not working again. Maybe about a month since last service to fix the same issue. Last time the excuse was no refrigerant from factory. Don’t know what it will be this time. Haven’t seen any evidence of a leak, but acting the same as last time. Toggle on AC or Max and it auto toggles to off after a few seconds with no cool air. Calling SC tomorrow for an appointment. If second fix isn’t permanent going to have to start talking buyback.
If the original issue was no refrigerant then you have a slow leak and it was not likely that the factory just forgot to do it. This makes more sense because production checklists would not deviate on a procedure like that. If pressure is not exactly what it should be it will not work. I recently had a similar problem with my fridge. The service guy did his thing then left and it stopped working a few days after. He then came back and said he did not pressurize it sufficiently.

If it is indeed leaking they need to replace the component or reseal everything or both not just service it. Refrigerant evaporates so a leak does not mean you need to see fluid for a slow leak to be there. We are talking about a pressure leak.

The AC was not working when I took delivery of our 4 in late October. When i mentioned this, the adviser explained that the AC won't feel as cold in an EV (seriously). I was a bit stressed at the time (and hot), so opted to take the car.

I scheduled a service appointment for it to be repaired. The service manager was great - he explained that a group of cars manufactured in the early days had their refrigerant lines pinched when the frunk was installed at the factory. This, in turn, resulted in a slow leak. The only way to fix it was to replace the refrigerant lines (and the refrigerant). Since this initial issue, all has been great.

God...I hope not. The AC is one of the reasons I am dumping my S ice.

The AC works fantastic after the refrigerant lines were repaired. You'll love it.
Cool. Thanks.

As long as the ICE AC quirks and the weep hole water egress situation has been addressed on the new EV Macan's..I should be good to go.

EV should be delivered in the next 2 weeks!

my AC problem is back. Problem to begin with was the AC system would auto switch off at random and would not turn back on. Attempting to switch back to AC on in the climate menu would show the system light go back to off after a few seconds.

first time right after purchase I took the turbo in I was told by SC that there was no refrigerant in the lines from the factory (strange, but ok). Filled and AC started working again. After about 500 miles same thing started happening again, was able to reproduce in front of SC manager. Am now being told the AC control panel has to be swapped out so my turbo has been in for service for a week.

If I have this issue pop up one more time, vehicle is getting lemon-lawed. First Porsche experience, overall unhappy with build, panel alignment, interior creaks and squeaks, and now some actual hardware malfunction with just under 1k miles on the odometer.

Other than some minor panel gaps that were addressed at the SC, never had these kinds of issues with our Tesla. I did have a lot of issues with our Rivian, which actually pushed me towards a legacy German automaker thinking it would be built rock solid. Previously mostly Lexus and Volvo ICE vehicles, which just never had issues.

There were a group of cars produced in the early days where the installation of the frunk caused the ac lines to get pinched. This causes a slow leak in the refrigerant. They need to replace the ac lines and then refill the refrigerant. This happened to me and my dealership corrected it the first time. There’s actually a service bulletin that they can look up too describing the fix.
