My 22” are 45 psi and the ride is a bit rough, but fun. Anyone actually tried lowering to 39 psi on 22” to compare?
Yes. I have 22” RS Spyders on All-Seasons. Ride is definitely better.

I've had a reasonably loaded 4 (RWS, HUD, 14 ways, heated windshield, leather package, pseudo matrix headlights, BOSE, rear wiper) with base 20s, since October,and I love it. It's more than quick enough, handles well enough for my needs, rides well and I've been averaging almost 4 mi./ kilowatt hour in warm weather (winter range is another story). MSRP was just over $94k.

I personally have no need for the added performance of the 4S, and at least officially the four has better range which is more important to me. So I would not want to see the four go away in favor of a comparably priced 4S.

If I had to do over again, I'd order almost exactly the same car, with a couple of minor tweaks. I understand Dave's point, but given the ability to order such a range of options anyway, I don't think the four levels of Macan EV is overwhelming. (BTW, I am coming from gen 1 Macan GTS.)
thanks for posting this I think this great feedback - this argues for a Macan 4 + optional performance package making it' equal to the "S" - there are few if any physical differences between a 4 and 4S - so it's just software tune - and the software tune could be an optional performance package…

Red calipers on 4s but those are largely covered up by most of the wheel offerings. (unless you get the 21 off-roads or a 22" variant)

At one point in my engineering career, I worked for Michelin. Not a revelation to most gear-heads, but most tire manufacturers spend a lot of money trying to balance design performance across many criteria. Noise is one of those criteria. That said, I have noticed that my Macan (with acoustic glass) has a lot less sound proofing than my former Audi Etron. The Audi was bank vault quiet. The Audi also had Hankook tires with foam inside to deaden tire noise (OK, pretty quiet, but the tread wear sucked).

Interesting! I previously drove an e-tron GT (sister of the Taycan) and it was anything but quiet. I think the rear transmission added a lot of noise, but also I think they ripped out too much sound control while chasing weight. The Macan (with sound insulating glass) is nice and quiet by comparison.

i think all this debate about which car was more quiet and which tires and so on is just proof that most people have the same problems with the macan as i have: none

not everything is Porsche's fault…grrrr
Good afternoon [ @daveo4EV ] , Just a quick update: Looks like we found the cause for the electrical gremlins. Something has been chewing wires. We will need to remove the front bumper, repair wiring that we can see, test the systems again and calibrate the driver assistance systems. Estimate: [too much money] Please advise if we may complete the repairs. Thank you,

This happened to my son, too. (After he took over my Nissan Leaf.) So he took over my Polestar 2...

Apparently, this used to not be a problem, because wiring was insulated with poisonous bad-tasting plastic, but as manufacturers are trying to become more environmentally friendly, they use plastics that are more recyclable, less poisonous, and more delicious to rodents.

Win some, lose some ... but you'd think they could coat it in ghost peppers or something, to compensate...

I think they should add Cayenne pepper to the plastic, just give those rodents a secret sauce surprise. I mean adding Cayenne pepper to a Cayenne makes sense right?

Dave, you might recall that I posted that I had this very issue when I picked up my Macan at the LA EC. No comfort entry in the driver side only. Chewed wires in the front bumper. Porsche didn’t want to cover the repair, but I was able to show it happened prior to delivery, and they finally did so.

yeah mine was working for at least 11,000 of the 12,700 miles I've driven it - this unfortunately happened on my watch {sigh}
